Nissan Z Proto Combines Retro Styling With Twin-Turbo V6 And Six-Speed Manual

Image
The Nissan 370Z was introduced over a decade ago and it’s well past its prime. While sales have tapered off to a trickle, the company isn’t ready to give up on the iconic Z car. Instead, they’re previewing the next-generation model with the retro-inspired Z Proto. Billed as a “thoroughly modern sports car” that pays respect to 50 years of Z heritage, the Z Proto sports a bright yellow pearlescent exterior which recalls the one used on the original sports car. The paint job isn’t the only retro touch as the hood mirrors the original, while teardrop-shaped LED headlights recall the JDM 240ZG of the 1970’s. While the rectangular grille is reminiscent of the outgoing model, designers added fins which are a nod to the past. Likewise, the roofline and greenhouse recall those used on classic Z cars. The rear end is a bit more modern as it draws inspiration from the 300ZX and features distinctive taillights which have been “reinterpreted for the modern world.” They’re framed by black surround

2021 Ferrari Portofino M Brings More Power And Tech To “Entry-Level” Convertible

Image
After the unveiling of the Portofino-based Roma coupe late last year, it was only a matter of time before Ferrari upgraded the convertible model as well, seeing as the fixed-top car brought a series of upgrades. Enter the 2021 Ferrari Portofino M, which gains the Roma’s 612 HP (620 PS / 456 kW) powertrain as well as exterior and interior styling tweaks. Adding the letter ‘M’ to the name (it stands for ‘Modificata’) does not mean the old Portofino gets to continue: the Portofino M facelift effectively replaces it. It’s one of those facelift jobs that need a good look at to notice the changes, though. On the outside, the Portofino M adopts a new front bumper with larger air intakes for a more aggressive look plus a new air vent at wheel arch height that’s said to help reduce overall drag. The grille has been updated too and features new aluminum slats with contrasting faceted tips. Out back, the new exhaust system has allowed the removal of the silencer assembly, making the Portofino M’s

2022 Hyundai Tucson Has A Radical Design, Coming To The U.S. Next Year

Image
The all-new 2022 Hyundai Tucson has just been unveiled and as recent teaser images suggested, it shares virtually nothing in common with the outgoing model. Now in its fourth-generation, the Hyundai Tucson is the latest recipient of the automaker’s ever-evolving Sensuous Sportiness design language. With that in mind, the Tucson features a brand new front grille with Parametric Hidden Lights that means when the SUV is switched off, the front of the Hyundai appears to be covered exclusively in dark geometric patterns with no obvious LED daytime running lights. This edgy design continues down the sides of the SUV where there are sharp, chiseled surfaces and angular wheel arches. Completing the design overhaul is a radical new rear-end that includes split taillights, hidden rear wipers that sit under the spoiler, a smooth glass Hyundai badge, and an aggressive diffuser and bumper package. In the United States, petrol-powered Tucsons will be sold in seven exterior colors: White Cream, Phant

Image
Following a lengthy teaser campaign and a coronavirus related delay, Maserati has finally taken the wraps off the all-new MC20. Billed as a “super sports car” that is the natural evolution of the Ferrari-based MC12, the MC20 promises to mark the beginning of a new era for Maserati. That’s more than just marketing hyperbole as the MC20 features an all-new, twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine which is billed as “100% Maserati.” It features a dual injection system as well as an F1-inspired pre-chamber combustion system with twin-spark plugs. This helps to enable the engine to produce 621 hp (463 kW / 630 PS) and 538 lb-ft (730 Nm) of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission which sends power to the rear wheels via a limited slip differential.  This enables the car to accelerate from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than 2.9 seconds, before hitting a top speed in excess of 202 mph (325 km/h). Customers will also be able to order an electric powertrain.  The compan

Image
The first images of the facelifted 2022 Genesis G70 have been unveiled, showcasing a striking new look fitting of the brand’s current design language. With this in mind, the front of the updated G70 includes the Korean automaker’s new ‘Quad Lamps’ headlights that give the sports sedan a particularly athletic appearance. The front end also includes the Genesis signature crest grille as well as shapely new air intakes and a large lower grille. Fewer changes have been made to the sides of the 2022 model but there are air extractors just behind the front wheels. Jeep Grand Wagoneer Concept Previews Truck-Based 2022 Model

Image
After a long wait, the beloved Jeep Grand Wagoneer nameplate is back, albeit as a near-production concept vehicle. Judging by what this “concept” shows us, the full-size premium SUV will be a promising offering when it enters production next year as a 2022 model. The new Grand Wagoneer is a tech-laden, plug-in hybrid concept that features the industry’s first passenger infotainment screen in an SUV. The 10.25-inch screen allows occupants to watch media, browse the internet or find destinations and send them to the driver. The passenger-side screen is shielded from the driver by a privacy film on the glass, allowing them to focus on the 12.1-inch center console display and the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel instead. Additionally, there’s a 10.25-inch horizontal comfort touchscreen below the central display for controlling the seats and the four-zone climate control. There are more screens inside the Grand Wagoneer than in the new S-Class, as second-row passengers also have three 10.

2021 Mercedes S-Class Goes Official

Image
Following countless spy shots, leaks, and official teasers, it’s finally time for the new 2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class to show itself to the world. Mercedes is hosting the debut of their new luxury flagship sedan at a special live-streamed event, showcasing a very long list of new features that aim to offer a brand new sense of luxury to both the driver and occupants. The exterior design of the new Mercedes S-Class is not going to rewrite the rule books anytime soon, offering instead a classy -and safe- appearance for the big German saloon. Most design cues are shared with other models in the range, including the headlights and taillights as well as the new-style front grille, making features like the new pop-out door handles stand out when looking for highlights on the outside. The radical departure of the new generation S-Class takes place under the skin and inside the cabin but that’s hardly a surprise given the company’s revealing teasing campaign. Let’s start with the new generation

After a prolonged teaser campaign, the 2021 Rolls-Royce Ghost has been unveiled with a sharper yet evolutionary design and a host of new features. Underpinning the new Ghost is the same flexible aluminum architecture as the Phantom and Cullinan. For the Ghost, the moveable bulkhead, floor, cross members and sill panels were re-positioned to meet the demands of the British marque’s exclusive clientele, ensuring the Ghost is both enjoyable to drive and comfortable to be driven in. Powering the luxury car is a 6.75-liter twin-turbocharged V12 engine pushing out 563 hp and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. Rolls-Royce says this engine delivers maximum torque from just 1,600 rpm and that it features a distinctive porting in the air intake system to reduce unwanted engine sounds in the cabin. The engine is placed behind the Ghost’s front axle, providing the sedan with a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. Power is sent through an all-wheel drive system via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission
