2020 Mercedes-AMG 35 Junior Performance Sedan Has 302 HP, Does 0-60 In 4.7 Sec

Image
We knew it was coming and here it is; the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4Matic. The German car manufacturer says it will target younger buyers with the A 35 Sedan, much like its hatchback sibling. Like the hatchback, the A 35 Sedan is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 302 hp and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. All of this power is sent to the ground courtesy of an AMG Speedshift 7G dual-clutch transmission and advanced 4MATIC all-wheel drive system. The A 35 Sedan can hit 96 km/h (60 mph)in 4.7 seconds and tops out at a limited 250 km/h (155 mph). Much like the hatchback, the new Mercedes-AMG A 35 Sedan can be differentiated from other A-Class Sedan models thanks to some sporty components. Among these changes include a front splitter with silver chrome trim elements and a set of 18-inch alloy wheels. Mercedes-AMG also outfits the car with the AMG Line side skirts, a trunk lid lip spoiler, rear diffuser, and dual tailpipes. Customers can tweak the exte

2020 Lincoln Corsair Teased As MKC Replacement Ahead Of NY Auto Show

Image
Lincoln has confirmed the official premiere of the all-new Corsair for April 17, at the 2019 New York International Auto Show. The carmaker hasn’t said anything else about the new SUV, but it did drop a teaser, which provides a first official look at the MKC’s replacement and the brand’s smallest SUV. Recent prototypes indicate that it will look like a smaller Aviator, with a simpler lower styling at the front, LED headlights and an evolved clam-shell tailgate. It will also have a slightly slopped roofline to give it a sportier vibe. The cabin design is expected to be more luxurious than the one of the MKC, with chrome and wood trims, as well as high-quality leather. Those willing to spend even more on the upcoming Corsair will be able to specify the Black Label package, mimicking the equipment offered in its larger sibling. The SUV won’t miss out on the SYNC3 infotainment system, customizable LCD instrument cluster, smartphone integration and other technologies either. Ridi

Hyundai Venue Crossover To Premiere At New York Auto Show

Image
An all-new crossover from Hyundai will premiere at next month’s New York Auto Show. Dubbed the 2020 Hyundai Venue, the vehicle will be the smallest crossover the South Korean automaker has built. It will appeal to younger buyers looking to have a good time. That plays in with the name ‘Venue’, which Hyundai says has been selected in reference to a place where people want to be seen. It’s, therefore, a slightly different naming scheme than existing Hyundai crossover and SUV models named after specific locations, like the Kona and Santa Fe. Limited details about the vehicle are known and a teaser of the crossover simply shows off the large ‘Venue’ badge on the rear. In the lead up to the vehicle’s premiere on April 17, we do expect Hyundai to release more teasers, however. The baby crossover from Hyundai has been spied in various locations around the world and some publications assert that it is related to the Carlino concept presented in India three years ago. If that’s the cas

Chevrolet Captiva Returns For A Second Generation As Rebadged Baojun 530

Image
Chevrolet brings back the Captiva nameplate for a second generation, but only in select markets from Asia and South America. While the all-new Captiva crossover was first shown late last year in Colombia, Chevrolet is giving it a proper debut at the Bangkok Auto Show in Thailand. If you live in China, however, you’ll find the new Captiva very familiar because it’s essentially a rebadged version of the Baojun 530 SUV sold there. The 2019 Captiva will offer five- and seven-seat configurations and Chevrolet Thailand believes that will allow it to appeal to both B- and C-segment SUV buyers. “The All-New Captiva is positioned to overlap the fast-growing SUV-B and SUV-C segments,” said Ms. Piyanuch Chaturaphat, Sales & Marketing General Director of Chevrolet Sales Thailand. “Captiva will be especially attractive for customers looking to get into their first SUV; offering expressive style, life-sized space, and smart technology, all wrapped in a smart-value package,” the execu

Ferrari P80/C Breaks Cover As One-Off Track-Only Supercar Based On 488 GT3

Image
There are one-off Ferrari projects and then there’s the new P80/C. Ferrari spent almost four years developing this unique track car — the longest time of any Ferrari one-off made to date. That’s because the company took a different approach than with its one-off cars in the past, with the P80/C being the result of in-depth styling research, lengthy engineering development, as well as “scrupulous aerodynamic testing.” Commissioned by TK, an unnamed customer Ferrari describes as “a great connoisseur of the Ferrari world,” the P80/C is an entirely new and modern take on the Ferrari sports prototype concept. The client’s brief was to create a modern sports prototype inspired by two iconic models from Ferrari’s history: the 330 P3/P4 and the 1966 Dino 206 S. That was no easy task for the Ferrari Styling Centre because it had to develop a new kind of product that did not exist in the current lineup. More specifically, it had to design a sports prototype inspired by cars that esse

Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato Comes Bundled With DB4 Continuation, Costs £6 Million

Image
Fresh off presenting not one, but three all-new supercars at the recent Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin is also releasing a new, limited-run model named the DBS GT Zagato. Previewed in a few official renderings, it’s been created to mark the 100th anniversary of the Italian design house and almost 60 years of collaboration between the two companies. Essentially a re-bodied version of the DBS Superleggera, the new DBS GT Zagato will be sold as part of the DBZ Centenary Collection and will be made in just 19 examples. Each one comes with a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation as well and costs a whopping £6 million ($7.9/€7 million) in the United Kingdom, before taxes. Visually, the new supercar sets itself apart with the double-bubble roof reminiscent of the original Aston Martin Zagatos. It also gets a huge gaping grille, muscular bonnet, wide wrap-around windscreen, muscular rear haunches, new grille, headlights and unique wheels. Aston hasn’t announced any technical deta

Porsche Cayenne Coupe Revealed

Image
The third-generation Porsche Cayenne family is extending its arms to welcome a brand new version to the table, featuring a sloped roof line and an overall sporty design. This is the new Porsche Cayenne Coupe. Highlights include sharper lines than the regular model, a rear end design that the automaker describes as being unique, an adaptive rear spoiler and either a panoramic fixed glass roof (fitted as standard) or an optional carbon fiber one. “The Coupe includes all the technical highlights of the current Cayenne, but has an even more dynamic design and new technical details that position it as more progressive, athletic, and emotional,” said Porsche chairman Oliver Blume. The Cayenne Coupe also has a shallower front windshield and A-pillar compared to the regular version, while its roof sits roughly 0.78 inches (19.8 mm) lower. Other design features include the redesigned rear doors and quarter panels, a license plate bracket integrated into the bumper, plus the pr

BMW Drops First 2-Series Gran Coupe Teaser Ahead Of November L.A. Premiere

Image
We’ve known for a while that BMW was planning to launch the 2-Series Gran Coupe, and now we have official confirmation that the car is a few months away from being unveiled. Set to premiere at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in November before going on sale in global markets next spring, the 2-Series Gran Coupe has been teased for the first time. The image released by the automaker previews the C-pillar, rear fenders, small boot lid spoiler, shark-fin antenna and slim LED taillights. The 2-Series Gran Coupe will use the same underpinnings as the new 1-Series, which is also in development and will be unveiled this year. However, while lesser versions of the car will have to make do with FWD, the upper grades will get the xDrive all-wheel drive system. One of the models that will enjoy the all-wheel drive is the range-topping M240i. This version is believed to utilize the same engine as the X2 M35i, namely a 2.0-liter four-banger making 306 PS (302 hp / 225 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb

Xpeng Will Launch New All-Electric E28 Four-Door Sedan At Shanghai Show

Image
Xpeng Motors has dropped a teaser previewing its latest model that’s set to premiere at the Shanghai Auto Show next month. Xpeng first came across the radar with the release of the G3 SUV last year. Since then, the Chinese electric car manufacturer has been developing a new four-door sedan which it dubs a “mass production model.” The vehicle, codenamed E28, has been pencilled in for a commercial launch at the end of 2019. Limited details about its electric powertrain have been provided, but Xpeng claims that the E28 will come equipped with Nvidia’s AI supercompeting platform which supports Level 3 autonomous driving features. The E28 is also set to have an impressive driving range as well as decent levels of performance. “Our in-house operating system and proprietary autonomous driving software built on NVidia’s powerful Xavier chip make E28 the most advanced production model in terms of user interface design and intelligent features in today’s China auto market,” vice preside

Li Xiang Launches With “One” SUV That’s Got Six Seats, Four Screens, Hybrid Powertrain

Image
The ever-growing world of Chinese car brands has just be joined by another newcomer: Li Xiang. In English, that name means Leading Ideal, and the vehicle you see below is the brand’s first production model. Dubbed the Li Xiang One, it certainly looks quite promising. Powering the One is a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine and an electric motor. Unlike most hybrids currently on the market, the 1.2-liter engine doesn’t actually power the wheels and is used exclusively as a range extender to recharge the battery. This setup results in a total of 326 hp and 530 Nm (390 lb-ft) of torque and the large SUV will allegedly travel 700 km (434 miles) before needing some juice. The Li Xiang One is big, measuring 5020 mm (197-inches) long, 1960 mm (77-inches) wide, and 1760 mm (69-inches) tall. Those dimensions are more than enough to support seven seats but the car manufacturer instead decided to fit two large seats in the second row rather than th

2020 Mercedes GLC Coupe Combines Sportier Styling With More Power

Image
Mercedes is gearing up for the New York Auto Show by unveiling the 2020 GLC Coupe. Set to go on sale in the United States late this year, the facelifted crossover features a sportier front fascia and an evolutionary “contoured diamond-block grille.” The latter is flanked by restyled LED headlights which feature distinctive daytime running lights. The familiar styling continues out back as the GLC Coupe adopts new taillights and a sportier dual exhaust system. We can also see a new rear diffuser and plenty of chrome trim. Moving into the cabin, drivers will be greeted by a new steering wheel which features updated controls. The crossover also gains a multi-functional touchpad which replaces the previous rotary push-button controller used for the infotainment system. Speaking of the infotainment system, designers installed an updated unit which features a 10.25-inch display (Europeans get a base 7-inch display) and the latest MBUX operating system. Other highlights inclu

Porsche’s Electric Taycan Shows Its Face On First Official Images

Image
Following a set of sketches, Porsche has released the first official images of the Taycan EV in its production form. The pictured car is wearing a colorful wrap to keep some of the final details a secret but we can get a pretty good idea of what the first all-electric Porsche will look like. Featuring the slogan “Soul, Electrified” on the windshield, the new Porsche Taycan comes with a front end that looks and feels like a Porsche; the headlights appear to wear a sticker that make them look like the units in the Cayman and Boxster models but look closely and you’ll notice the quad-LED units per corner in a similar arrangement with the Mission E concept. The overall design appears to remain close to that of the concept, minus of course dramatic details such as the suicide rear doors. The production Taycan will feature a set of ‘normal’ doors instead, which will use handles that sit flush with the bodywork, in a similar fashion with the latest 911. You can also notice the ch
