Pininfarina Battista Is An EV With More Power Than A Bugatti Chiron

Automobili Pininfarina has unveiled the all-new Battista which is being billed as the “world’s first luxury electric hyper performance GT.”

Currently on display in Geneva, the Battista has a stylish design that recalls a handful of other Pininfarina models including the Ferrari Sergio. However, this particular model has a sporty front fascia with a distinctive LED lighting strip.

Moving further back, we can see flowing bodywork and a teardrop-shaped cockpit with a long roof. Other notable styling features include ‘floating’ taillights and an active rear wing that features an air brake function. The model also has 21-inch lightweight wheels that are backed up by six-piston carbon-ceramic braking system.

The driver-focused cockpit has a carbon fiber steering wheel and a minimalist digital instrument cluster. On either side are two larger screens with the left focused on performance and the right focused on infotainment and navigation. This left / right split continues further below as there are circular displays for the transmission and drive mode selector.

Elsewhere, there’s a mix of premium materials including quilted leather, aluminum and carbon fiber. The model also has ambient lighting and numerous personalization options.

The Battista rides on a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and features a Rimac-sourced 120 kWh battery pack.  The latter powers four electric motors that develop a combined maximum output of 1,874 hp (1,397 kW / 1,900 PS) and 1,696 lb-ft (2,300 Nm) of torque.

This setup enables the all-wheel drive hypercar to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in less than two seconds and 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) in less than 12 seconds. Given enough room, the Battista will eventually hit a top speed in excess of 217 mph (350 km/h). That’s pretty impressive and the estimated range of up to 280 miles (450 km) isn’t too shabby either.

The Battista will be launched next year and production will be limited to 150 units. They will be allocated equally across North America, Europe and Asia / Middle East. The company expects to have between 25 and 40 dealers supporting the launch and they will be located in major cities such as the New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, London, Stuttgart and Hong Kong.
