New Ram Rebel TRX Concept Is A Brutish 575HP Supercharged V8 Off-Road Beast

Image
While the heart of the automotive world beats today in France, Ram took  the chance to reveal  the Rebel TRX concept, the brand’s most extreme factory-engineered half-ton pickup ever.  Ram  installed a supercharged  6.2-litre V8 under the bonnet, providing a massive 575hp to all four wheels via a Torqueflite eight-speed automatic gearbox. The Rebel TRX concept is now able of triple digit speeds, even when traveling on surfaces other than paved roads.  In order to cope with the increased horsepower and become a true performance pickup truck, the new Rebel TRX concept features a Dynatrac Pro 60 rear axle with an electronically limited slip differential and 1.5-inch axle shafts. The front axle is a standard item, fitted with custom CV half-shafts to allow a wider track.  The suspension travel was increased by 40 percent and a set of 37-inch tires contribute to a massive ground clearance that measures more than 13 inches. RAM had to widen the body in order to accommodate the huge tires.

Land Rover has unveiled the all-new, three-row seven-seat Discovery set to go on sale in the US in mid-2017, starting at $49,990, and in the UK, in spring of 2017, priced from £43,495. The  all-new Discovery  is meant to deliver comfort, safety and adaptability like no other SUV on the road, which is what Land Rover would have us believe about this fifth-generation model, while even calling it the "best family SUV in the world." It's lightweight aluminum construction saves about 480kg (1,058 lbs) in weight, which in turn means higher efficiency and lower CO2 emissions. Still, the new Discovery looks to impress even before you get to take it out on the road. It's got a premium interior with seven full-sized adult seats, which you can configure from your smart phone no less, semi-autonomous driving and towing tech, excellent luggage space, nine USB ports, 3G WiFi hotspot for up to eight devices and a best-in-class 3,500kg (7,716 lbs) towing capacity.
