What is the best car in the world?

There are 3 types of cars in the world. There are Supercars/Hypercars, they look great, go really fast and are quite capable on the race track. But they are not perfect. Because they have hideous ride quality. So it's impossible to use them on a day-to-day basis.

Then come the sports cars. They look good too, go fast enough, and are somewhat more comfortable to use than Supercars. But they're not perfect too, because most of them are not very practical. And because not every sports car fan likes a Porsche 911, going on a long road trip cannot be executed in these machines. But they are great to drive!

That brings us to the 3rd category-Passenger cars. They're quiet, comfortable, reliable, have enough room for you, your luggage, your family, their luggage, and they're economical too. But for the one who really wants a pure driving experience? They're quite dreary.

So what shall we do? Buy all three, as some people might. But what if you can only buy 1 car? Can you really get a car that has enough power and agility to satisfy the inner carguy, while being reliable, comfortable, spacious for a long road trip?

Luckily for us, the Germans have made something that tries to fulfill all those expectations. The Super-saloon. And they're quite good too...

The cars that qualify for the ''super-saloon'' moniker are the Mercedes AMG E63 and S63, BMW M5/M6, Audi RS6/RS7 and the Porsche Panamera. Over the years the Japanese and Americans have caught up too, with the Lexus GSF and Charger Hellcat/Cadillac CTS-V.

All these vehicle offer practicality, comfort, reasonable fuel economy, and most importantly, power. Some excel in one category, the other in something else.

In my opinion the Lexus GSF just doesn't cut it. It's heavy, and has only 460-ish horsepower. The M5 is good, but it's looking quite dated compared to other cars here. The M6 is good, but it's a bit too expensive, the same being the case for the E63 and S63 AMG models. The Porsche on the other hand, is a Porsche, so we all know how crazy (awesome) their options list is. Of course, these are only minor flaws in what is quite a good list of German-made sports saloons.

Going further westwards, we find the Dodge Charger Hellcat. With 707bhp it has enough power to beat every other 4-door car in the world. And it's a great machine-if you like burnouts and drag races, and you want a good value car too. But I've heard quite a lot that it's not so good when it comes to cornering, and that amazing sound can become quite a nuisance on a daily basis.

That leaves me with only one choice-the Cadillac CTS-V. It has more power than it's rivals, except the Hellcat. It looks menacing, it's quite refined, and I've heard it's quite capable when it comes to cornering. It's more luxurious than the Hellcat, faster than the M5/M6, the Panamera, the RS twins, the AMG twins too. And for me that makes it the perfect blend of Passenger car, sports car and supercar. It's even got the engine from the Corvette Z06/Camaro ZL1. So for me, it's the perfect car one can buy. Oh yeah, it's not as expensive as ze-Germans too.
