New Citroen SpaceTourer 4X4 Ë Concept Is A Cool All-Terrain Van


Citroen will debut the new SpaceTourer 4X4 Ë Concept at the Geneva Motor Show, which is basically a more adventurous version of the French van.

Based on the smaller XS bodystyle, the new SpaceTourer 4X4 Ë Concept features an all-wheel drive system along with a more rugged appearance, courtesy of its special front and rear protective skid plates, roof bars and wheels which come fitted with snow chains for some reason. 

The cabin also gets a special layout with a warm design theme, with the seats dressed in white leather and grey alcantara. The SpaceTourer 4X4 Ë Concept offers seating for up to nine people, depending on the cabin configuration. 

Under the bonnet sits the company’s BlueHDi 150 diesel engine, paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. Citroen says that this prototype all-wheel drive system is also feasible for application on the regular production model as well, but didn’t say if they are indeed going to put into production.

All-terrain vans are always cool on our books, and Citroen’s latest concept certainly nails the recipe. What do you think?

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Rather than simply removing the roof of the standard T-Roc, Volkswagen has drastically altered the vehicle’s structure and body. In fact, its wheelbase is 37 mm longer than the standard T-Roc while its overall length is up by 34 mm. In addition, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet features structural strengthening in the underbody, side panels, cross members, doors, and windscreen frame to make up for the lack of a roof. The folding fabric roof developed by Volkswagen retracts in just nine seconds at speeds of up to 19 mph (30.5 km/h) and is similar in operation to the roof of the outgoing Golf Cabriolet. Ford's new GT Competition Series was built with weight-saving in mind, but also with an improved center of gravity for better road-holding. Among its features, you'll notice the lightweight carbon fiber racing stripes, A-Pillars and side mirrors, as well as the unique race-inspired Perspex acrylic engine hatch with integrated venting.
