2019 Suzuki Jimny Leaks Looking Familiar


Not long after spies snapped the 2019 Suzuki Jimny in the midst of testing, images of the redesigned SUV have emerged following a company presentation detailing its product roadmap.

As we long suspected (and hoped for), the new Jimny hasn't totally sacrificed its iconic design and still remains identifiable. What that means is that the SUV maintains its small proportions and its front end continues to be dominated by a slim, horizontal grille and a set of simple headlights, now round rather than the square shape of the original.

The interior of the new Jimny also has a very boxy design reminiscent of the old car but there are some changes, most notably a large touchscreen infotainment screen and a redesigned steering wheel.

Sources suggest that the 2019 Jimny will use a ladder frame and the firm's AllGrip Pro all-wheel drive system. Engines remain unknown at this stage but the 110 hp, 1.0-liter engine of the Baleno is expected.

Expect to see the 2019 Suzuki Jimny premiere at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show.

Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet Is A Crossover For Droptop Lovers

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Rather than simply removing the roof of the standard T-Roc, Volkswagen has drastically altered the vehicle’s structure and body. In fact, its wheelbase is 37 mm longer than the standard T-Roc while its overall length is up by 34 mm. In addition, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet features structural strengthening in the underbody, side panels, cross members, doors, and windscreen frame to make up for the lack of a roof. The folding fabric roof developed by Volkswagen retracts in just nine seconds at speeds of up to 19 mph (30.5 km/h) and is similar in operation to the roof of the outgoing Golf Cabriolet. Ford's new GT Competition Series was built with weight-saving in mind, but also with an improved center of gravity for better road-holding. Among its features, you'll notice the lightweight carbon fiber racing stripes, A-Pillars and side mirrors, as well as the unique race-inspired Perspex acrylic engine hatch with integrated venting.
