Are you the VW Golf facelift?


Volkswagen launched the Golf VII almost four years ago, so it comes as no surprise the people from Wolfsburg are readying a mid-cycle refresh. According to AutoBlog.nl, this is it. Our Dutch colleagues managed to get their hands on several images allegedly depicting the inbound facelift for the regular hatchback and estate, as well as for the spicy GTI version.
To be honest, you’d have to be a diehard Golf fan to spot the differences between the current model and the facelifted version right away. The most obvious change is noticeable at the front where Europe’s best-selling car has received a new set of headlights. According to the rumor mill, the facelifted Golf range will gain full LED headlights as optional equipment, unlike the outgoing version which is available with LED lights only in the electric e-Golf and the plug-in hybrid Golf GTE models.

The leaked pics are only showing the exterior, but we already know VW will sell the updated Golf with an optional all-digital instrument cluster like the one available in the larger Passat. A more high-tech infotainment system with gesture control support is also on the agenda, as previewed by the Golf R Touch concept shown at the beginning of the year at CES.
