Evantra Millecavalli unleashed with 1,000 horsepower

Codenamed “EV-R,” the Evantra Millecavalli is far from being a pure electric vehicle as the internal code would suggest. After a very long teaser campaign, Italian specialty marque Mazzanti Automobili is finally showing us the final version of the car which will be on display between June 8 and 12 at the 2016 Salone Auto Torino in Italy.
Billed as being the “most powerful street-legal hypercar ever built in Italy,” the Evantra Millecavalli is motivated by a newly developed biturbo 7.2-liter V8 engine. The massive unit is able to hit the magical 1,000-hp mark and generates a peak torque in excess of 886 pound-feet (1,200 Nm). Looking like a hardcore version of the original Evantra, the Millecavalli will run to 60 mph (96 kph) from a standstill in just 2.7 seconds.
There’s no word about top speed, but it should be pretty high taking into account how much power the supercar packs. In addition, weight is likely very low since the regular 224-mph Evantra tips the scales at just 2,866 pounds (1,300 kilograms). Mazzanti isn't saying anything about the gearbox in charge of delivering all those ponies, but we should mention the regular model can be had with a semi- or fully-automatic transmission along with a sequential gearbox.
More details will be released next month when the Millecavalli will make its public debut in Torino. The supercar is more than just for show as Mazzanti has plans for a limited production run of only 25 hand-built units at a yet undisclosed price tag.
