Goodwood Festival of Speed To Celebrate All Things Porsche


Every year, the Goodwood Festival of Speed celebrates one marque and at this year’s event, Porsche’s seven decades of producing some of the world’s best sports cars and race cars will be commemorated.

As with every year, a large statue will be erected in front of Goodwood house for the duration of the event. Additionally, a dedicated class of Porsche’s greatest vehicles will run on the famous hillclimb course in what’s sure to be a thrilling spectacle.


Key cars that are expected to be in attendance during the event including some of Porsche’s Le Mans 24 Hours winners, as well as Grand Prix, IndyCar, World Sportscar Championship, and rally weapons. The marque’s best current production machines will also be a key feature of the Michelin Supercar Run.

“Porsche has been one of our most loyal and enthusiastic partners, supporting the Festival of Speed since 1995, and the Revival since 2010,” The Duke of Richmond and Gordon, Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox said.


“This year Porsche will become the first manufacturer to create the central display at the Festival for the third time, underlining the huge contribution from this iconic manufacturer of world-beating racing cars and road cars.”

Porsche previously featured at the event’s Central Feature statue 20 years ago when a 917-20, 917LH, 936, 956, and 911 GT1 were displayed. Five years ago, the 50th anniversary of the 911 was commemorated.
