New McLaren Senna Carbon Pack To Strut Its Stuff In Geneva


McLaren Automotive is set to show its new Senna hypercar at the Geneva Motor Show for the first time next week. And when it does, it’ll wear a previously unseen “Carbon Theme.”


One of five “themes” prepared by McLaren Special Operations for the new Ultimate Series model, the Carbon option is – as you might have guessed – characterized by its carbon-fiber appearance.


The package comprises 67 parts that takes nearly 1,000 man-hours to produce. It also features yellow and green accents in reference to Ayrton Senna’s Brazilian heritage, taking another 250 hours to apply. This on top of the 300 hours it takes to hand-assemble each car.


The treatment continues inside, where the black Alcantara trim features green stitching, along with the gas strut for the door, a yellow-hued steering wheel, and S logos on the headrests and rear-wing endplates. The Carbon Theme adds almost £300,000 to the £750,000 sticker price.


“The McLaren Senna customers in the process of specifying their own, personalised cars are almost without exception commissioning an elevated level of MSO content, so we are definitely appealing to our target audience,” said MSO director Ansar Ali. “With the car having generated so much interest since its unveiling in December, we knew we needed to produce something very special in order to showcase the unique talents of McLaren Special Operations; the McLaren Senna Carbon Theme by MSO at the Geneva Motor Show is exactly the kind of project we thrive on delivering and once customers have had the opportunity to view it in person, I would not be at all surprised to see a rise in expressions of interest for MSO Visual Carbon Fibre cars similar to this one.”


MSO is also demonstrating a special set of seven-spoke, center-lock wheels on the Senna show car that are 10 percent lighter than the standard rims. The wheels will be available as a dealer-installed option in either Diamond Cut or Stealth finish, with red and blue wheel nuts on either side.

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Ford's new GT Competition Series was built with weight-saving in mind, but also with an improved center of gravity for better road-holding.
