Subaru Celebrates 50th Anniversary With Limited Edition Vehicles In Chicago


It’s been 50 years since Subaru of America first started its operations, and to celebrate the event, the automaker has launched limited edition models of some cars.


Presented during the 2018 Chicago Auto Show, these include the Crosstrek, Forester, Impreza, Legacy, and Outback, limited to 1,050 units each, and the BRZ, WRX, and STI, with a combined total of 1,050.

Subaru BRZ

Already on sale at the brand’s dealers nationwide, all anniversary models are based on their respective range-topping trim level. They also get a new exclusive color, called Heritage Blue, special exterior and interior accents, and unique ‘SOA 50th Anniversary’ emblem.

Subaru Forester

Satin chrome trim on the outside, along with different alloy wheels on all vehicles except for the BRZ, and side mirror casings finished in Satin Chrome (except for BRZ, WRX, and STI), further define their special character.

Subaru Legacy

The cabin of each of the eight special models features the ’50th Anniversary’ logo embroidered on the front seats and floor mats, black upholstery with contrasting silver stitching, and silver seatbelts.

Subaru WRX STi

The Subaru BRZ 50th Anniversary is the most affordable of the range. It starts from $30,800, including the destination and delivery charges, whereas the WRX STI is found at the opposite end of the list, with a starting price of $42,055.

Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet Is A Crossover For Droptop Lovers

Droptop crossovers have always been rather odd and the T-Roc Cabriolet is no different. It will be the only convertible Volkswagen on sale for the foreseeable future and will celebrate its public debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. Rather than simply removing the roof of the standard T-Roc, Volkswagen has drastically altered the vehicle’s structure and body. In fact, its wheelbase is 37 mm longer than the standard T-Roc while its overall length is up by 34 mm. In addition, the Volkswagen T-Roc Cabriolet features structural strengthening in the underbody, side panels, cross members, doors, and windscreen frame to make up for the lack of a roof. The folding fabric roof developed by Volkswagen retracts in just nine seconds at speeds of up to 19 mph (30.5 km/h) and is similar in operation to the roof of the outgoing Golf Cabriolet. Limited Edition Ford GT 'Competition Series' Is All About The Track

Ford's new GT Competition Series was built with weight-saving in mind, but also with an improved center of gravity for better road-holding. Among its features, you'll notice the lightweight carbon fiber racing stripes, A-Pillars and side mirrors, as well as the unique race-inspired Perspex acrylic engine hatch with integrated venting.
