The 675LT’s reign in McLaren’s Super Series will be over once  the brand-new MSO HS  will be officially unveiled to the public. Yes, this striking-looking 650S-based Mac, leaked on the internet by our friends at  Jalopnik  with the help from an unnamed source, will be close to the top of McLaren's food chain, surpassed only by the almighty P1.  Like the 675LT before it, it  builds upon the 650S  and it features carbon-fiber bodywork that increases downforce even more (the 675LT was aerodynamically chiseled to increase downforce by 40 percent over any other model in the Super Series). The enormous rear wing, for example, is said to be derived from the P1 GTR’s program and uses throttle mapping to adjust itself electronically for street or track use. A few years ago, McLaren relaunched as an automaker with it's first car, the MP4-12C. It blew our minds away. Faster and more powerful than the Ferrari 458 (it's main rival), it quickly made it's way into the elite supercar division. Despite the unusual name, I really admired the beauty of this car, despite many people saying it looks too... scientific. Some time later, McLaren came up with the 12C Spider, added even more power and (kinda) ordered us to call it "12C" Coupe and Spider. For some reason, I liked the design of the Spider more than the Coupe, and I'm someone who prefers Coupes to Convertibles. Then, McLaren gave their car a mid-life refresh-along with a new name: 650S. The first image of McLaren's 688 High Sport has popped up on the web, showing an even more extreme version of the already hardcore, 675LT thanks to  McLaren Life . Despite being  spied without camouflage , leaked in  numerous renderings  and according to some, already having been delivered to customers, McLaren has remained very quiet about the car so far. As its name suggests, the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 has been upgraded to  688 PS  (678 HP), while the weight has been reduced by around 40 kg (88 lbs).  The image reveals that the 688 is adorned with a plethora of aerodynamic elements to make it even more track-oriented than the 675 LT. At the front, the British supercar includes four carbon fiber canards, air extractors on the front wheel arches and a large roof scoop. A few months ago, we brought you the first info on a possible  hotter version of the McLaren 675LT , backed up by what seemed to be a  scooped prototype , and now, we have what is being alleged to be official photos of the car. These purportedly leaked images surfaced on  Autogespot ,  which claims that we are indeed looking at the real deal, but as usual, until McLaren steps forward and makes a statement, we have to take them with a grain of salt.  From what we can see,  visual changes  on top of the 675LT count the extensive use of carbon fiber on the body, including the new front bumper that will increase downforce, the roof scoop and a GT3-inspired large rear wing, coming with a Formula 1-like Drag Reduction System (DRS).  Reportedly named 688HS for High Sport, the  supercar will supposedly  benefit from a total of 688 PS (678 HP), meaning 13 PS (13 HP) more than what the 675LT has to offer.
