BMW has used the Geneva Motor Show to announce plans to offer an all-new i4. Previewed by the i Vision Dynamics concept, the production model will be an electric vehicle that is built in Munich, Germany. BMW declined to say when the model will go into production but the i4 will be one of 25 electrified vehicles the company intends to launch by 2025. It will be joined by 11 other battery-electric models including the iX3 and MINI EV. While BMW was light on specifics, the i Vision Dynamics concept debuted at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show with an electric powertrain which enabled the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in four seconds before hitting a top speed in excess of 200 km/h (120 mph). The concept could also travel up to 600 km (373 miles) on a single charge which is pretty impressive considering the Tesla Model S has a range of 539 km (335 miles). BMW has just unveiled its anticipated new electric vehicle at the Frankfurt Motor Show but unlike rumors suggested, it isn’t the i5. Instead, it is a concept dubbed the i Vision Dynamics and is positioned as a Gran Coupe to slot between the i3 and i8. The German company has confirmed that the i Vision Dynamics will reach the production line but hasn’t said exactly when it will arrive. Nevertheless, the design of the i Vision Dynamics is significantly sleeker than patented images of the so-called i5 have indicated. The automaker hasn’t released detailed technical specifications about the i Vision Dynamics but says it will be able to accelerate from 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in under four seconds, achieve a top speed exceeding 124 mph (200 km/h) and have a range of approximately 373 miles (600 km).
