Aston Martin Vanquish Vision Concept Is A 720S And F8 Tributo Rival

Image
This is the Aston Martin Vanquish Vision Concept, which has just been unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and previews to British automaker’s upcoming mid-engine supercar. The new Vanquish will slot below the Valkyrie and 003 hypercars in Aston’s range and take the fight to the likes of the Ferrari F8 Tributo and McLaren 720S. Aston Martin is keeping many core details of the Vanquish Vision Concept under wraps but has confirmed that it will feature a version of the marque’s new V6 which is set to premiere in hybrid turbo form in the 003 hypercar. Limited details are known about this V6 but in order to match or exceed the 710 hp outputs of the McLaren 720S and Ferrari F8 Tributo, it will likely use some form of hybridization or twin-turbochargers. The British automaker has also announced that the Vanquish Vision Concept ditches the carbon fiber monocoque chassis of the Valkyrie and 003 and instead uses a bespoke bonded aluminum chassis. This platform will be cheaper and easier t...

Aston Martin Unveils The Vanquish Zagato Speedster And Shooting Brake

Image
Aston Martin has released the first pictures of the Vanquish Zagato Speedster and Shooting Brake. Set to join the previously announced Coupe and Volante, the latest two additions are already a hit as Aston Martin has sold out of its entire production run of the Speedster. This is an impressive feat as the model isn't slated to go into production until next year. The Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is the newest entry to the lineup and it boasts a dramatic body which is sure to garner plenty of attention. Aston Martin only released a couple of pictures of the model but the company says the vehicle is a "strict two-seater" with a unique roof which has a glass inlay that allows light to flood into the cabin. Speaking of the interior, the Shooting Brake has herringbone carbon fiber trim, anodized bronze controls, and optional aniline leather upholstery. Buyers will also find a power tailgate which opens to reveal a "luxuriously trimmed rear cabin area" compl...

Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante To Be Unveiled At Pebble Beach

Image
Aston Martin has announced plans to unveil the new Vanquish Zagato Volante at Pebble Beach. Recently caught undergoing testing on the Nürburgring, the model combines classic Aston Martin elegance with a striking design by Zagato. Full details will be released next month, but the model will be powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 592 hp (441 kW). The company believes this will enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Production will be limited to 99 units and the company says all of them have already been spoken for. Besides introducing the Vanquish Zagato Volante, Aston Martin use Pebble Beach to stage the North American debut of the Rapide AMR. Billed as the "world’s fastest and most thrilling four-door" sedan, the model features a new front splitter, an enlarged grille, and aerodynamic side skirts. The car has also been equipped with a sporty rear diffuser, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, and 21-inch alloy wheels. A naturally...

Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante Revealed, looks staggering

Image
Just when you though Aston Martins couldn’t become  more beautiful , the British brand has just taken the top off the Vanquish S Volante. As the name implies, the new convertible is based around the immensely pretty Aston Martin  Vanquish S  unveiled late last year. That means that it continues to be powered by a naturally-aspirated 5.9-liter V12 engine delivering 594 hp at 7,000 rpm and 465 lb-ft of torque at 5,500 rpm. As with the coupe, drive is then sent to the rear wheels courtesy of a re-calibrated 8-speed Touchtronic III transmission. Compared to the run-of-the-mill Vanquish Volante, the  S-badged model  also benefits from a new exhaust system with quad tailpipes. retuned suspension components and updated anti-roll bar bushes. Among the most obvious visual tweaks a carbon fiber-clad front fascia and splitter, new aerodynamic side skirts and an overhauled rear-end with a menacing diffuser, the aforementioned quad tailpipes and a flurry of carbon accen...

Aston Martin's Vanquish Zagato Volante Will Take Your Breath Away

Image
Hot off the heels of the  Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato's launch, the British marque has unveiled the Volante derivative at the ongoing Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in the U.S. As with the hardtop, just 99 examples of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante will be produced, likely priced at over 500,000 euros ($566,000) each. The droptop is particularly special as it follows on from a selection of other limited-run convertible Zagato models, like the DB7 Zagato, the 2003  DB AR1  and the original V8 Vantage Volante of 1987. Design wise, the Vanquish Zagato Volante is identical to the coupe albeit for the lack of a fixed roof, now replaced by a folding fabric design. This means that compared to the standard Vanquish Volante, the Zagato-designed model is bathed in a number of unique styling elements like the bespoke front fascia and fog lights and the same overhauled rear end of the coupe.  As with the coupe, the stunning taillights also bare a striking resembl...

Aston Martin’s New Limited Production Vanquish Zagato Coupe

Image
Aston Martin confirmed a limited series production of its  Vanquish Zagato Coupe  that was originally shown as a study at last month’s Concorso d’Eleganza event at Villa d’Este in Italy. The study was created in collaboration with Italian design-house Zagato with Aston Martin stating that after “unprecedented customer interest” during the event, a strictly limited production run of 99 cars was decided. But don’t get your hopes up, as company insiders are saying that all 99 examples have already been spoken for, despite a steep price tag of around £500,000 or about $730,000. The fifth car to emerge from Aston’s long-time collaboration with Zagato, which stretches back over five decades,  dresses the standard Vanquish  with restyled, one-piece carbon fiber panels. Inspiration is said to have come from classic Zagato models as well as Aston Martin’s own Vulcan, One-77 and CC-100.  Exterior highlights include Zagato’s trademark 'double-bubble' roof, the sculptura...

New Aston Martin Vanquish to Pack 800 Horsepower?

Image
With 600 horsepower on tap, the  new DB11  has already surpassed the Vanquish's output of 565 HP, being the most powerful Aston currently in production - but not for long. Auto Express  reports  that the British are already planning a replacement for the Vanquish based on the new DB11 but packing an even more potent version of its 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12.  To create some distance between the models, the new Vanquish (name unconfirmed yet, but we venture a guess it will remain) could churn out as much as 800 horsepower. That output would surpass even the mighty One-77 and tie the Vulcan as the most powerful Aston Martin of all times. It would also be enough to show up the likes of the Ferrari F12 TdF, Lamborghini Aventador SV, and  Pagani Huayra BC  (which also uses a twin-turbo V12 developed by Mercedes-AMG). Production of the new engine has just commenced at the Aston Martin Engine Plant in Cologne, Germany, where the automaker has manufactured al...

Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Concept Combines British Engineering With Italian Flair

Image
By bringing the Vanquish Zagato Concept to the  shores of Lake Como , Aston Martin and Italian design-house Zagato celebrate a collaboration that started over 50 years ago. Viewed from the front, the  Vanquish Zagato Concept  is quite similar to the regular Vanquish, but the second you move towards its side of the rear, you'll find a more Fastback-like appearance with a completely redesigned rear-end that's more reminiscent of the V12 Zagato road concept from 2012, than anything else. There are of course more than a few Aston Martin visual features, both classic and modern, such as the One-77 inspired wing mirrors, the retractable spoiler, rear hatch design or the quad-exhausts. The bladed LED taillights seem to stand out really well in the shade, or in the absence of light (as you'd imagine), and stay true to past Zagato-built models in terms of their overall shape - where the fact that they're round sets them apart instantly from any sort of factory-standard ...
