Cupra Tavascan EV Concept Has Three Electric Motors, 302 HP, 280-Mile Range
With the unveiling of the new Tavascan Concept, Cupra is indicating its intentions concerning its electrified future. Based on the MEB platform, which will become the foundation stone of all EVs made under the Group’s umbrella, the study is powered by three electric motors. Two are integrated into the front axle and the third at the rear, for a combined 306 PS (302 HP / 225 kW) and a 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 6.5 seconds. The zero-emission powertrain is powered by a 77 kWh lithium-ion battery pack mounted in the floor for a lower center of gravity and more dynamic driving experience, which provides a maximum range of 450 km (280 miles) on a single charge, in the new WLTP test cycle. Visually, the concept follows the crossover coupe trend, with sleek styling that’s very aggressive at the front.
