Buick Unveils 2017 Encore Ahead Of NY Auto Show

Image
Official images and information about Buick's  updated Encore  have emerged, and it's quite clear we're looking at a more refined and better connected car than before. The 2017 Encore is by no means a new model, but simply a facelifted one, though that takes nothing away from its new and boxier front-end design with new LED headlights, the more refined interior or the on-board tech. Among the Encore's new standard features you'll find things such as push-button start, keyless unlock and an 8" color touchscreen which makes exploring your next-generation IntelliLink system much more refreshing. "The Buick Encore created the premium small SUV segment and remains the top choice for customers seeking premium features and dependability coupled with timeless design,"  said Buick VP of sales & marketing Duncan Aldred.  "In a rapidly evolving segment, the Encore continues to lead with smart, purposeful updates and a new level of technology-infused ...

2017 Buick Encore Facelift Leaked In China, Debuts In New York

Image
China is giving us an early look at the new face of Buick’s 2017  Encore subcompact SUV , less than two weeks prior to its world premiere at the New York Auto Show. If you’ve been following the news from  last week’s Geneva Motor Show , then the changes won’t come as much of a surprise, since the Buick Encore is the North American twin of the  Opel / Vauxhall Mokka X , with the only thing differentiating the two being the badges and the front grille.  While the car you’re looking at is the China-specification 2017 Encore, with the possible exception of some miniscule details like the orange turning signals, the North American model will look the same. On the outside, it gains a more chiseled and less bulbous front end featuring different headlamps with available LED tech and Buick’s new and more modern corporate winged-grille instead of the dated waterfall unit, and a tidier rear bumper.  There are no pictures of the interior, but expect to see the redesigned...

The freshening follows the playbook of the Chevy Trax, which was also updated with a light hand. Though it keeps its familiar shape, sort of like an oversized Pontiac Vibe, the Encore gets Buick's new grille. It's a simple look with the wings bisecting the brand's tri-shield, and it calls to mind Buick's iconic front ends from yesteryear. You might remember it from the  Avenir  and  Avista  concepts. There are also new headlights. They look stolen from Audi, and it's an attention-getting gaze for the new face of the Encore. There will likely be new wheel packages, too. We can't see inside the Encore. Spy photographers couldn't get close enough to this Buick shoot in Southern California. But, we expect the interior to also mirror the Trax enhancements, which included a new instrument panel, gauges, materials, a...
