Bentley Unveils Continental GT V8 Models With 542 HP On Tap
Bentley has just unveiled two brand new versions of its third-generation Continental GT and GT Convertible models, both available with a new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 petrol unit, producing 542 HP (550 PS) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque. In a straight line, the Coupe can rocket to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.9 seconds (Convertible 4.0 sec), and will top out at 198 mph (318 km/h). Customer deliveries in the U.S. will commence in Q3 of this year, with availability for other regions to be scheduled starting in Q1 of 2020. The new-generation 4.0-liter 32-valve V8 unit features dual twin-scroll turbochargers located inside the ‘V’ of the engine. The 550 PS and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) are sufficient so as to help both versions (Coupe and Convertible) stay within 0.1 seconds of each other.
