Volkswagen wants to draw attention to its newest convertible, the T-Roc Cabriolet, which will have its official market launch in Germany and other European markets from March 20. The automaker does that by releasing the mother lode of all photo galleries (325 of them to be exact), as well as detailed videos featuring the T-Roc Cabriolet’s two trim levels. Compared to the regular T-Roc, the convertible version ditches the rear doors and the fixed roof, adopting a fully automated soft top instead. VW is proud of the fact the top opens in just nine seconds, even when traveling at speeds of up to 30 km/h (18.6 mph). Unsurprisingly, the T-Roc Cabriolet is less practical than its fixed-roof sibling, offering a boot capacity of 280 liters (9.9 cu ft), regardless of whether the soft top is open or closed. Porsche has officially unveiled the new 911 Turbo S in both Coupe and Convertible forms, following a long series of leaks and very revealing spy shots that basically spilled the beans long before today. As expected, the new Porsche 911 Turbo S distinguishes itself from lesser models with slightly more aggressive front bumper, the characteristic side air intakes and that lovely rear end with a pair of either oval-shaped or quad exhaust tips and that extendable rear spoiler. That rear wing in coordination with the front extendable spoiler give the new 911 Turbo S 100 kg (220 lbs) of downforce at 205 mph (330 km/h). The body of the new 992-based 911 Turbo S is 1.8 inches (45 mm) wider on the front wings and 0.8 inches (20mm) wider at the rear than the previous model. Weight is also up by 50 kg (110 lbs) but that easily corrected by the added firepower. Porsche has unveiled the all-new 911 Cabriolet less than two months after the coupe debuted at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Looking instantly recognizable, the 911 Cabriolet features an automatic soft top with a lightweight structure that has magnesium bows to prevent “ballooning of the roof at high speed.” The roof also features an integrated glass rear window. Speaking of the roof, it can be opened and closed faster than its predecessor thanks to new hydraulics. The process now takes approximately 12 seconds and the top can be opened or closed at speeds up to 31 mph (50 km/h). When the roof is down, a wind deflector rises to ensure drivers remain comfortable. At launch, the 911 Cabriolet will be offered exclusively in Carrera S and Carrera 4S guise. Joining the ‘standard’ 2018 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet models at Frankfurt will be the refreshed AMG S63 Coupe and Cabriolet and AMG S65 Coupe and Cabriolet. Most importantly, the facelifted S63 models ditch Mercedes-AMG’s twin-turbo 5.5-liter in favor of the latest 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with 603 hp and 664 lb-ft of torque. This new engine is mated to the AMG Speedshift MCT 9G transmission and a variable AMG Performance 4MATIC+ transmission, allowing the new S63 Coupe and Cabriolet to reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in a blistering 3.4 seconds. Top speed of both models sits at a limited 186 mph (300 km/h). The S63 Coupe also incorporates the AMG Cylinder Management cylinder deactivation system which deactivates cylinders two, three, five and eight when they’re not needed.
