Porsche has taken the wraps off their latest addition to the Cayenne Coupe line-up, introducing the new 2022 Cayenne Turbo GT.  The Turbo GT seems to have dropped the “Coupe” from its official moniker, but rest assured it’s a trim level exclusive to the Cayenne Coupe. It’s also the ranger topper for the model, slotting in above both the Turbo and the S E-Hybrid. The unveiling comes just a week ahead of the Cayenne Turbo GT’s first public outing, which will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from the 8th–11th of July. The new car promises to be the fastest-ever production Cayenne and one of the fastest SUVs on offer. The Cayenne Turbo GT retains the four-liter twin-turbo V8 that powers the Turbo Coupe, but does so with a power boost of 90 PS (67 kW/90 HP), giving it a total of 640 PS (471 kW/631 hp). One of the few certain things in this life beyond taxes and death is Porsche’s uncanny dedication to its family of 911 models. The more the merrier for Porsche which just a week after the presentation of the wingless 911 GT3 Touring has further expanded the fam with the return of the GTS moniker for the 992-generation series. Arriving in the U.S. early next year, the new 911 GTS series models are available in rear- and all-wheel drive coupe and convertible configurations as well as an all-wheel drive only Targa variant. Powering them all is a tweaked 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six making 473-hp (480 PS / 353 kW) and 420 lb-ft (570Nm), or a healthy 30-hp and 15 lb-ft (20 Nm) more than your run of the mill Carrera S. In keeping with tradition, Porsche has expanded the trim lineup of an already expanded model lineup with the introduction of a new member of the 911 GT3 sub-family, the 911 GT3 Touring. Whereas other companies may have just offered a rear-wing delete option, Porsche thinks it deserves its own nameplate. Described as a “subtler choice that retains every ounce of the excitement, the feel and the performance you expect”, the GT3 Touring is available as a no-cost equipment package. Beyond getting rid of the huge fixed rear wing in favor of a hidden, automatically extending rear spoiler, the only other differences over the regular GT3 concern some minor trim changes, including the aluminum window outlines, the Touring badges, and a color-coded front spoiler (instead of being blacked out). Porsche has taken the wraps off the Taycan Cross Turismo, and to nobody’s surprise the EV sedan’s off road brother looks almost identical to the cool Mission E Cross Turismo Concept from 2018. If there is a surprise, it’s the price: the entry level Taycan 4 Cross Turismo costs $90,900 plus delivery in the US (or £79,340 in the UK). Taken at face value that makes the Cross Turismo $12k more expensive than the entry-level sedan. But Porsche North America says the wagon version is only $1,530 more than the sedan after the new car’s extra equipment is taken into account. That equipment includes all-wheel drive, which you don’t get in the base Taycan and the bigger 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus, which you can get in the base Taycan, but have to pay extra for. Porsche has finally revealed the 992-based GT3 following years of camouflaged test cars spotted testing on race tracks and public roads. Let’s get the headline figures out of the way first; the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine that can rev up to 9,000 rpm and produce 502 HP and 346 lb-ft (469 Nm) of torque. As standard, every new 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 will be fitted with a seven-speed dual-clutch PDK transmission, but the six-speed manual will still be an option. 0-60 mph (96 km/h) comes in just 3.2 seconds for the PDK-equipped 911 GT3 (0-100 km/h in 3.4), with the top speed set at 197 mph (317 km/h). Models fitted with the manual transmission require 3.7 seconds from 0-60 mph (0-100 km/h in 3.9), but offer a slightly higher top speed, at 199 mph (320 km/h). The 2021 Porsche 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S models have been unveiled by the German carmaker. Like previous iterations of the 911 Targa, this new one features an automatic roof system that includes a wraparound rear window that Porsche says can be opened and closed in just 19 seconds. Both the 911 Targa 4 and 911 Targa 4S models feature a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine. In Targa 4 guise this engine delivers 380 hp at 6,500 rpm and 331 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque between 1,950 rpm and 5,000 rpm. By comparison, the 911 Targa 4S churns out 444 hp and 391 lb-ft (530 Nm) of torque from 2,300 rpm to 5,000 rpm. Porsche says the 911 Targa 4 will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.2 seconds while the Targa 4S will reach the same mark in 3.6 seconds. Porsche has officially unveiled the new 911 Turbo S in both Coupe and Convertible forms, following a long series of leaks and very revealing spy shots that basically spilled the beans long before today. As expected, the new Porsche 911 Turbo S distinguishes itself from lesser models with slightly more aggressive front bumper, the characteristic side air intakes and that lovely rear end with a pair of either oval-shaped or quad exhaust tips and that extendable rear spoiler. That rear wing in coordination with the front extendable spoiler give the new 911 Turbo S 100 kg (220 lbs) of downforce at 205 mph (330 km/h). The body of the new 992-based 911 Turbo S is 1.8 inches (45 mm) wider on the front wings and 0.8 inches (20mm) wider at the rear than the previous model. Weight is also up by 50 kg (110 lbs) but that easily corrected by the added firepower. Porsche is extending its electric sports saloon’s range with the addition of the new Taycan 4S, which slots below the Turbo and Turbo S. The new Taycan 4S will offer up to 522 HP (530 PS) in overboost, but customers will be given the option of a Performance Battery Plus package that raises the output during overboost to 563 HP (571 PS). This makes it 100 HP less powerful than its 671 HP Turbo sibling and 187 HP shy of the range-topping Turbo S that can go up to 750 HP. As standard, the new Taycan 4S is fitted with a 79.2 kWh battery pack, which provides a 252-mile (405 km) driving range. If, however, you opt for the aforementioned Performance Battery Plus package, you’ll get a bigger 93.4 kWh unit that lifts the driving range to up to 287 miles (462 km), according to the WLTP testing cycle. Legacy automakers have been content to challenge Tesla's all-electric dominance with a range of crossovers. But while the Audi E-Tron, Mercedes-Benz EQC, and Jaguar I-Pace are fine EVs, they also feel more like proofs of concept; ticking the basic boxes while falling well short of the range and performance standards set by Tesla. Porsche is taking a different approach with the 2020 Taycan’s launch, introducing two high-performance variants first, with less potent, more affordable models coming later this year (and a Taycan Cross Turismo arriving late in 2020). While the first two models might ruffle some feathers with their respective names, we can promise that the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S are wholly worthy of one of Porsche's longest-running, most important badges, because they are impressively powerful and neck-snapping quick.
