Subaru’s Viziv Adrenaline Concept Revealed

Image
Subaru has revealed the Viziv Adrenaline Concept, which is the first study to adopt the company’s “Bolder” design language. Through the new philosophy, Subaru aims “to broaden the brand’s outlook, define the characteristics of Subaru vehicles more prominently, and create more enjoyment for all passengers.” All those objectives sound good but are quite vague. While the automaker isn’t willing to reveal much about its intentions with the new concept car, the photos reveal a youthful crossover with a sporty look. Subaru says the body shape exhibits a dynamic and strong feel, with highlights including the unique roof design and prominent body cladding. The roof not only looks cool but also reinforces the body structure. Other notable details include the sleek LED headlights and taillights, lack of door handles, rearview cameras, white accents on the alloy wheels shod with rugged all-terrain tires, and the reasonably high ground clearance. Subaru Viziv Adrenaline Concept Looks Like A Boldly Styled Compact SUV

Image
The 2019 Geneva Motor Show is exactly two weeks away, and automakers are currently making the final preparations for the biggest automotive event of the spring. Most of them anyway, as some will abstain. Subaru will be there, though, and will unveil the Viziv Adrenaline Concept. As far as we can tell by the dark teaser image released by the Japanese company, the new Viziv Adrenaline appears to be a small crossover. It appears to have a three-door body style, the brand’s grille at the front flanked by a couple of futuristic headlights with integrated LED DRLs, and a muscular hood. The wheel arches are very prominent, the traditional side mirrors have been replaced by a couple of cameras and there’s a generous ground clearance. In Subaru slang, Viziv means ‘Vision for Innovation’, so could this mean that the new Adrenaline show car serves as a preview for a possible future product? The automaker hasn’t said anything else about it, except that it will be unveiled at the press brief...

Subaru Viziv Tourer Concept Is Another Imaginary Glimpse Into The Future

Image
Subaru has dropped the first teaser image of a new concept model named the VIZIV Tourer in advance of its world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show. The fifth project of the Japanese firm’s VIZIV series, which derives its name from the phrase “Vision for Innovation”, will explore a station wagon design. Subaru won’t tell us anything else about the study yet, but if we had to guess, we would say it could preview the brand’s intention for a Levorg replacement or perhaps a different compact estate. Subaru kicked off the VIZIV series of concepts at Geneva in 2013, with crossover, hybrid, performance and seven-seat studies (the latter transformed into the production Ascent SUV) as well as a digital GT Vision model for Sony’s Gran Turismo 6 racing game. With the clock ticking down for the 88th Geneva International Motor Show that starts on March 6 for the press, it won’t be long before Subaru sheds some light upon the study, with more revealing images and information, so stay tuned. ...

Subaru Says Next WRX Will Look Like Viziv Concept

Image
Subaru says that the next-generation WRX will bear a close resemblance to the Viziv Performance concept unveiled a couple of months ago. Speaking with Autocar, Subaru design chief Mamoru Ishii said that the positive reception to the Viziv has encouraged the carmaker not to mess with the design significantly when the next WRX hits the road. “Such a car brings lots of expectation, from within the company and from our customers. What we know is that our customers’ lifestyles are changing and we have to respond to that. The question was whether we have done that in a correct way with this concept. “For instance, we know that autonomous and connective technology are coming, and for many customers that is great, but we don’t think that is what all of our customers want. For some, driving pleasure is still very important and that is what we are exploring,” Ishii said. According to Ishii, customers can expect to see the next WRX adopting a similar body shape, bold arches, and bonnet...

Subaru Viziv Performance Concept Is Like A WRX From The Future

Image
Subaru has released new details about the VIZIV Performance concept, ahead of its official unveiling at the Tokyo Motor Show. Billed as a "next-generation sports sedan," the concept resembles a futuristic WRX and features a sporty front bumper with carbon fiber accents. Designers also installed a ram air hood, a prominent grille, and stylish "hawkeye" headlights. Moving aft of the engine compartment, we can see ventilated carbon fiber fender flares and muscular bodywork. Other highlights include a carbon fiber roof and 20-inch alloy wheels. At the rear of the car, designers installed an aggressive diffuser and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. There are also LED taillights and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Overall, the concept measures 4,630mm (182.2 inches) long, 1,950mm (76.7 inches) wide, and 1,430mm (56.3 inches) tall with a wheelbase that spans 2,730mm (107.4 inches). Technical details remain elusive but the company says the concept has a "high...

New Subaru Viziv Performance Concept Previews An Autonomous Sports Sedan

Image
Subaru has a new concept lined up for the Tokyo Motor Show this year, and is giving us but a glimpse of what to expect. Called the Viziv Performance Concept, it follows in a long line of show cars (and trucks) that have worn the same name: the original Viziv and Viziv Evolution in 2013, the Viziv 2 and Viziv GT in 2014, the Viziv Future in 2015, and the Viziv-7 last year. The new Performance Concept is said to take the form of a sports sedan, but not one focused purely on the driver. Instead it will showcase Subaru's vision for how a sporty autonomous vehicle could emerge as self-driving technologies advance in the near future, shifting the company's EyeSight driver assistance systems into high gear. We don't have much else to go on at the moment, but we can look forward to its full unveiling at the Big Sight exposition center on October 25 – so watch this space. Carscoops
