See The Restyled 2021 Mercedes-Benz E-Class And E53 AMG Coupe And Convertible Models

Image
Mercedes-Benz has spread out its mid-cycle facelift for the E-Class with the presentation of the 2021 sedan, wagon and All Terrain Wagon in March this year being followed today by the unveiling of the long teased Coupe and Convertible models in both regular and E53 AMG forms. It’s nothing groundbreaking with the revised two-door variants sporting minor exterior and interior styling tweaks, new technologies and updated powertrain offerings. Mercedes has a good thing going with the E-Class Coupe and Convertible, as admittedly, both are some of the most elegant looking proposals in the market. As such, there was no reason to ruin a successful formula with deep styling cuts. The most noticeable changes are the newly shaped grille and crispier light treatments on both ends, with the nose looking more upright this time around. There are four new paint colors too, named Cirrus Silver Metallic, Graphite Grey Metallic, Mojave Silver Metallic and designo Patagonia Red Metallic. The wheel line-up...

Facelifted 2021 Mercedes-AMG E53 Finally Brings A Drift Mode

Image
The 2021 Mercedes-AMG E53 has been unveiled in both sedan and Wagon bodystyles alongside the latest facelifted E-Class and E-Class All-Terrain. Unlike the All-Terrain, the E53 Wagon might not be coming Stateside. Slotting under the E63, which has yet to be uncovered in its latest form, the E53 soldiers on with the same 48v mild-hybrid powertrain as the outgoing model, which replaced the old E43 two years ago. Power comes from a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-six engine, which develops 435 PS (429 HP / 320 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. The EQ Boost starter-alternator adds an extra 22 PS (21 HP / 16 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of electric power under certain circumstances, bringing the numbers temporarily up to 457 PS (451 HP / 336 kW) and 770 Nm (568 lb-ft). The powertrain comes paired to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and 4Matic+ AWD system with rear-wheel drive capability. The 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) is dispatched in 4.5 seconds in the Salo...

Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 Packs Seven Seats And 302 HP

Image
Hot on the heels of the unveiling of the GLE 53 Coupe, Mercedes-AMG has taken the wraps off the all-new GLB 35. Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month, the GLB 35 is a high-performance seven-seater that features a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that develops 302 hp (225 kW / 306 PS) and 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. Last but not least, the GLE Coupe has a chrome-plated accent that wraps around a dual exhaust system. Compared to its predecessor, the new GLE Coupe is 1.5 inches (39 mm) longer, 0.3 inches (7 mm) wider and has a wheelbase that has been stretched by 0.8 inches (20 mm). Those differences are relatively minor, but the Coupe is still 2.4 inches (60 mm) shorter than t...
