Aston Martin Reveals Final Design Of The New DBS GT Zagato

Image
Aston Martin has revealed the exterior design of the upcoming DBS GT Zagato in a series of official renders. Based on the DBS Superleggera, the company’s latest limited-edition supercar showcases the latest evolution in the Aston Martin Zagato design language. How limited you ask? Well, in order to get your hands on one of the DBS GT Zagatos, you’ll have to also get a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation. The £6 million ($7.48 million) pair forms what Aston calls the DBZ Centenary Collection, with only 19 examples of each set to be made. One of the biggest visual highlights of the new Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato can be found in its traditionally massive grille; this is actually an active item, meaning that each of the 108-individual diamond-shaped carbon fibre pieces remain flush with the bodywork when the supercar is parked and then open upon start-up to enable the twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 to breathe. “This is a car that is not only focused around beauty, but drama too,” said Marek...

Aston Martin DBS GT Zagato Comes Bundled With DB4 Continuation, Costs £6 Million

Image
Fresh off presenting not one, but three all-new supercars at the recent Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin is also releasing a new, limited-run model named the DBS GT Zagato. Previewed in a few official renderings, it’s been created to mark the 100th anniversary of the Italian design house and almost 60 years of collaboration between the two companies. Essentially a re-bodied version of the DBS Superleggera, the new DBS GT Zagato will be sold as part of the DBZ Centenary Collection and will be made in just 19 examples. Each one comes with a DB4 GT Zagato Continuation as well and costs a whopping £6 million ($7.9/€7 million) in the United Kingdom, before taxes. Visually, the new supercar sets itself apart with the double-bubble roof reminiscent of the original Aston Martin Zagatos. It also gets a huge gaping grille, muscular bonnet, wide wrap-around windscreen, muscular rear haunches, new grille, headlights and unique wheels. Aston hasn’t announced any technical deta...

Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo Breaks Cover In Tokyo

Image
Milanese coachbuilder Zagato has unveiled the IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show, a car that anyone can drive as long as they have a PlayStation. This new Zagato model is available in Gran Turismo Sport on PS4, boasting an overall theme that combines sleek Italian aesthetics with the brawn of American powertrains. "The IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo was created to drive in the virtual-reality world, a world created by Gran Turismo. There is no mass in the virtual-reality world, as it remains a place that exists only in our imagination," said Zagato VP of design, Norihiko Harada. "The body style of the IsoRivolta Vision contradicts the sense of oneness that has evolved over the past hundred years of automotive design. Although the canopy and fenders seem to stand out on their own, in the end, the Zagato's overall design comes together in regard to both its proportions and general ambience." Harada also hopes that on...

Zagato Teases Vision Gran Turismo Concept

Image
Italian design house Zagato will soon join the long list of companies to have created Vision Gran Turismo concepts for the popular video game. Officially dubbed the Zagato IsoRivolta Vision Gran Turismo concept, the car takes styling inspiration from the Rivolta of the mid-1960’s and even though just part of the front and side have been revealed, it’s clear that Zagato’s Vision GT isn’t quite as ludicrous as some others. That’s no bad thing, however. At the front, the car includes bulging wheel arches that flow seamlessly into the aggressive and sharp front bumper. There’s also a set of thin headlights running diagonally along the arches and a small canard on the side of the bumper. Last but not least are a set of Pirelli’s new P Zero tires with red lettering. Zagato plans on revealing the car in full on October 18. Carscoops

Aston Martin Unveils The Vanquish Zagato Speedster And Shooting Brake

Image
Aston Martin has released the first pictures of the Vanquish Zagato Speedster and Shooting Brake. Set to join the previously announced Coupe and Volante, the latest two additions are already a hit as Aston Martin has sold out of its entire production run of the Speedster. This is an impressive feat as the model isn't slated to go into production until next year. The Vanquish Zagato Shooting Brake is the newest entry to the lineup and it boasts a dramatic body which is sure to garner plenty of attention. Aston Martin only released a couple of pictures of the model but the company says the vehicle is a "strict two-seater" with a unique roof which has a glass inlay that allows light to flood into the cabin. Speaking of the interior, the Shooting Brake has herringbone carbon fiber trim, anodized bronze controls, and optional aniline leather upholstery. Buyers will also find a power tailgate which opens to reveal a "luxuriously trimmed rear cabin area" compl...

Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante To Be Unveiled At Pebble Beach

Image
Aston Martin has announced plans to unveil the new Vanquish Zagato Volante at Pebble Beach. Recently caught undergoing testing on the Nürburgring, the model combines classic Aston Martin elegance with a striking design by Zagato. Full details will be released next month, but the model will be powered by a 6.0-liter V12 engine that produces 592 hp (441 kW). The company believes this will enable the car to accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 3.7 seconds. Production will be limited to 99 units and the company says all of them have already been spoken for. Besides introducing the Vanquish Zagato Volante, Aston Martin use Pebble Beach to stage the North American debut of the Rapide AMR. Billed as the "world’s fastest and most thrilling four-door" sedan, the model features a new front splitter, an enlarged grille, and aerodynamic side skirts. The car has also been equipped with a sporty rear diffuser, a four-tailpipe exhaust system, and 21-inch alloy wheels. A naturally...

Aston Martin's Vanquish Zagato Volante Will Take Your Breath Away

Image
Hot off the heels of the  Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato's launch, the British marque has unveiled the Volante derivative at the ongoing Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance in the U.S. As with the hardtop, just 99 examples of the Aston Martin Vanquish Zagato Volante will be produced, likely priced at over 500,000 euros ($566,000) each. The droptop is particularly special as it follows on from a selection of other limited-run convertible Zagato models, like the DB7 Zagato, the 2003  DB AR1  and the original V8 Vantage Volante of 1987. Design wise, the Vanquish Zagato Volante is identical to the coupe albeit for the lack of a fixed roof, now replaced by a folding fabric design. This means that compared to the standard Vanquish Volante, the Zagato-designed model is bathed in a number of unique styling elements like the bespoke front fascia and fog lights and the same overhauled rear end of the coupe.  As with the coupe, the stunning taillights also bare a striking resembl...

Aston Martin’s New Limited Production Vanquish Zagato Coupe

Image
Aston Martin confirmed a limited series production of its  Vanquish Zagato Coupe  that was originally shown as a study at last month’s Concorso d’Eleganza event at Villa d’Este in Italy. The study was created in collaboration with Italian design-house Zagato with Aston Martin stating that after “unprecedented customer interest” during the event, a strictly limited production run of 99 cars was decided. But don’t get your hopes up, as company insiders are saying that all 99 examples have already been spoken for, despite a steep price tag of around £500,000 or about $730,000. The fifth car to emerge from Aston’s long-time collaboration with Zagato, which stretches back over five decades,  dresses the standard Vanquish  with restyled, one-piece carbon fiber panels. Inspiration is said to have come from classic Zagato models as well as Aston Martin’s own Vulcan, One-77 and CC-100.  Exterior highlights include Zagato’s trademark 'double-bubble' roof, the sculptura...
