2020 BMW 7-Series Flagship Sedan Goes Official With Bold Update

Following a number of pretty revealing leaks, BMW has officially unveiled the facelifted 7-Series. The revamped flagship sedan sports redesigned the front and rear fascias that are supposed to give it a bolder look that’s inspired from the latest Bavarian models. Of course, we can’t talk about the design of the new 7-Series without mentioning that front kidney grille which is the biggest, and most controversial, change. Compared to the outgoing model, the new 7-Series’ kidney grille is bigger by 40 percent, featuring a single-piece surround trim and accompanying a 50mm taller front end for a more imposing stance. The new kidney grille is flanked by redesigned headlights which are now slimmer, creating a “stylistically appealing contrast” – according to BMW, that is. Tesla Model S Outsold Mercedes S-Class And BMW 7-Series In Europe

More customers in Europe opted for a Tesla Model S last year, with the American electric car beating traditional luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW in their home turf. While the Tesla Model S has been selling more examples than Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7-Series in the US for some years now, the same happens for the first time in Europe, Automotive News reports. Sales of the Tesla Model S in Europe have increased by 30 percent, with 16,132 cars sold in 2017. Mercedes sold 13,359 S-Classes for the same year, an increase of 3 percent. BMW sold 11,735 7-Series models, a 13 percent decrease over 2016. In the US, Tesla’s Model S sales were up by nine percent last year to 28,800 cars, beating rivals like the Cadillac XTS (16,275 units) and the Mercedes S-Class (15,888 units). Even the Model X is gaining traction on the European sales charts, as it managed to sell 12,000 units last year, which is about the same as the Porsche Cayenne and nearly 2,000 cars more than the BMW X6. “T...

BMW 7-Series Edition 40 Jahre Debuts Before Frankfurt

BMW has unveiled the limited run 7-Series Edition 40 Jahre prior to September's Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle commemorates the 40th anniversary of the model and will be restricted to just 200 units worldwide. On a visual front, customers of the 7-Series Edition 40 Jahre will have the option of a Frozen Silver metallic finish or the Petrol Mica metallic from the BMW Individual range. Whichever color is selected, the 40 Jahre comes equipped with the usually-optional M Aerodynamics package that consists of revised bumpers and a black kidney grille. Elsewhere, the car comes equipped with a high-gloss Shadow Line and 20-inch BMW Individual light alloy wheels. Additionally, there's a special badge signifying the limited edition model on the B-pillar and on the door sills. Moving to the cabin, the car can be optioned with either a BMW Individual full leather trim and Merino grain in a Smoke White/Cohiba finish or a Smoke White/Black finish.
