Infiniti has just dropped the first teaser images of its upcoming 2018 QX80, which is set to make its debut at the Dubai International Motor Show on November 14. Just as we expected, the new generation QX80 looks heavily inspired by the QX80 Monograph Concept that was first seen at this year’s New York Auto Show. The company’s large SUV is set to adopt the concept’s fluid styling, retaining features like the shape of the front grille and that of the headlights as portrayed in these images. These changes are destined to make the new QX80 a much more attractive proposition than its predecessor, whose bulky exterior design didn’t win many fans. However and despite the all-new design, Infiniti is reportedly going to keep the existing platform as the basis of the new QX80, as well as the same powertrain. The city of Dubai has announced a host of incentives it hopes will encourage local residents to buy electric vehicles. Over the weekend, the Road and Transport Authority (RTA) joined the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) to confirm the incentives which range from free registration through to free parking in the city. More specifically, the RTA will exclude EVs from registration and renewal vehicle fees, provide a free Salik tag (required to use Dubai highways), give EVs a unique number plate and provide free parking spots in 40 different locations set to be established by the end of the year. Additionally, DEWA will allow electric vehicle owners to use 100 different charging stations for free until the end of 2019. Just a couple of weeks ago we brought you news of Lamborghini opening its largest showroom in the world. Now Bugatti has followed suit, and what would you know, it's not just in the same country – it's in the same city, on the same road. That city, of course, is Dubai – which may not be the largest of the United Arab Emirates by area, but has the largest population... and evidently the wealthiest. Along with Bugatti and Lamborghini, Bentley also has its largest dealership there. The Bugatti showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road encompasses nearly 2,600 square feet of floor space, which is only a little over a tenth the size of the Lamborghini facility. But then the Bugatti dealer only has one model to showcase (though we wouldn't be surprised to see a second-hand Veyron or two moved into the space at some point). La Liga announced on Tuesday the worldwide launch of its first ever football academy. The Spanish top flight has decided that UAE will be the first location of its academy which will open its doors in September 2017. The academy will be the only scouting institution in the region with a team of UEFA pro-certified La Liga coaches conducting operations. In addition to the level of training that will be provided, youth enrolled in La Liga Academy also have the opportunity to be scouted to play professional football or land full football scholarships at leading universities in the United States and Europe, where they can continue their higher education while carrying on their football development. It has been a long wait but the first Lamborghini Centenario has finally been delivered. The lucky first recipient of the highly limited Italian supercar is a Sheikh from the United Arab Emirates. The first Centenario to be delivered is one of the 20 coupés finished in an interesting shade of orange. In addition to the 20 coupés, 20 more convertibles will soon find their way to their respective owners, bringing the total production of the supercar to just 40 vehicles. The Centenario was revealed at last year’s Geneva Motor Show and packs a naturally aspirated V12 that is good for 770 hp and 690 Nm of torque. This translates to impressive performance on road, shifting through a 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 2.8 seconds. The speedometer will keep on running well beyond 350 km/h for those who get the opportunity. Tesla launched a dedicated website for customers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), CEO Elon Musk announced on Monday, as the U.S. firm continues to expand internationally. The electric car company said it will begin taking orders for the Model S and Model X, with deliveries of the vehicles expected in the summer. Tesla will also have a pop-up store in The Dubai Mall and is building a service center in the city. It plans to open another store and service center in the UAE capital of Abu Dhabi next year. Tesla also announced that it had opened two superchargers with five more to follow by the end of the year. This technology allows Tesla owners to charge their cars in minutes rather than hours. Tesla said it also has 26 destination chargers across the UAE, which are at places such as hotels and shopping centers. It plans to add 50 more by the end of the year.
