TVR has pulled the covers off their long-awaited new Griffith at the Goodwood Revival. It’s a classic two-seater front-engined sports car, with a design echoing the past of the British company's past, though cleverly avoiding being tagged as another retro-themed model. TVR is looking ahead, while respecting the brand’s 70-year-long history. First the numbers: a Ford-sourced 5.0-liter V8 tuned by Cosworth produces around 500hp in a car that weighs just 1,250kg (2,755lbs). Weight distribution is a perfect 50-50, with TVR also achieving its main target, which was to offer a 400hp/tonne power-to-weight ratio. Zero to 62mph (100km/h) comes in less than four seconds while top speed is a quoted at ‘over 200mph’ (321km/h). A Tremec Magnum XL six-speed manual gearbox is the only transmission option. TVR will officially return with an all-new sports car at the Goodwood Revival and this is the final teaser image. The new two-seater GT model will be powered by a Cosworth version of Ford’s 5.0-liter V8 found in the Mustang mated to a six-speed Tremec manual transmission. Power is expected to be around the 480-hp mark, with TVR having set the target power-to-weight ratio for the new model at 400hp per tonne. Dry weight is expected to be less than 1,250kg (2,755lbs). The lightweight construction -which employs Gordon Murray’s iStream process- in combination with the V8 will give the new TVR some serious performance, with reports suggesting a 0-60mph in less than four seconds and a 200mph top speed. TVR has released a new teaser image of its upcoming sports car ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Revival on September 8th. Posted by Top Gear, the image suggests the model will eschew the extreme styling of recent vehicles such as the Tuscan and Sagaris. Despite this, the car clearly has some TVR DNA and picture shows a bulging hood, a large air intake, and what appears to be a double bubble roof. The company isn't ready to reveal detailed specifications yet but owner Les Edgar told the publication its 5.0-liter V8 engine will enable the model to accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than four seconds before hitting a top speed of 200 mph (321 km/h). This impressive performance is due in part to the car's carbon fiber chassis which enables the model to tip the scales at less than 1,250 kg (2,755 lbs). British carmaker TVR announced that it will unveil their all-new model at the Goodwood Revival on September 8. The new 200mph sports car, created in conjunction with Gordon Murray Design, will sprint from zero to 60mph in less than 4 seconds and tip the scales at around 1,200kg. Together with the announcement, TVR released another teaser image of the new model, showing one of the car's exhaust pipes sitting behind the front wheel. Power will come from a Cosworth-developed 5.0-litre V8 engine, giving the new TVR a 400bhp per tonne power-to-weight ratio. TVR isn’t revealing the final performance figures of the engine just yet, but it’s safe to expect around 480hp. TVR is paving the ground for the launch of a  new sports car , which could mark the return of the Griffith name. Dubbed "TVR The Rebirth", the latest teaser video provides a glimpse into the upcoming British  sports car , flanked by the original Tuscan and Tuscan Speed Six. Gordon Murray's iStream manufacturing technique will be used, as engineers are targeting a curb weight of approximately 1,150 kg (2,535 lbs). Power will come from a V8 engine,  tuned by Cosworth , which should be good for more than 400 HP, allowing the sports car to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) from a standstill in less than 4 seconds.
