New Camaro Turbo AutoX And SS Slammer Concepts Join Chevy’s SEMA Stage
Among the myriad of Camaros making their way to the Las Vegas strip for this year’s SEMA show are two concepts from Chevrolet named the Turbo AutoX and SS Slammer. Starting with the Turbo AutoX, it’s based on the 2.0-liter turbocharged Camaro sporting a hard-to-miss Shock Yellow paint-job complemented with Pearl Nickel hood stripes and satin Carbon Flash Metallic accents, with Chevy stating that it comes with “more agile handling that’s ideal for autocross enthusiasts.” The bow-tie brand says it improved the car’s roll stiffness and turn-in performance through a series of suspension upgrades. These include an available Chevrolet Performance lowering kit with stiffer springs and specifically tuned dampers that lower the ride height up to 0.75 inch (20mm), matched to conceptual parts, including a “plus performance” handling kit with larger stabilizer bars and stiffer suspension links, and a strut tower brace under the hood.
