The 2020 Cupra Formentor is here as the first-ever model developed exclusively for the Spanish sub-brand, featuring both internal combustion power as well as plug-in hybrid technology. Deliveries on the Formentor will begin in the last quarter of this year, with customers able to choose between a 2.0-liter TSI variant with 310 PS (305 HP), or a PHEV model with a 150 PS (148 HP) 1.4-liter TSI unit and a 115 PS (113 HP) electric motor. “The CUPRA Formentor is destined to make CUPRA an even more relevant brand in the market. With captivating design and high-performance powertrains, including a plug-in hybrid, the CUPRA Formentor will be a big step for CUPRA. Cupra has revealed the new Formentor SUV Coupe concept ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Despite being described as a concept, the new Cupra Formentor appears to be ready for production as the brand’s first standalone model. The new coupe crossover is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that delivers 242hp (245PS) and an all-electric range of up to 30 miles (50km) in the latest WLTP cycle. Featuring an aggressive exterior design, the new Cupra Formentor is characterized by its dynamic proportions and strong character lines that run across its body. The new front end fascia is also indicating at the next-gen Seat Leon while the rear end features taillights that are connected with an LED strip, or as Cupra calls it the “rear infinite light concept”.
