A few hours after the first images of the long-awaited Genesis G70 surfaced online, the Korean sports sedan been revealed in full and is directly targeting the best Germany has to offer. When it goes on sale in Korea, the G70 will be offered with a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6, a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder petrol and a 2.2-liter inline-four diesel. The twin-turbo V6 is the same unit found in the Kia Stinger and drives the performance-oriented G70 Sport, delivering 370 PS (365 hp) and 376 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the 2.0-liter turbo offers up 254 hp and 260 lb-ft and the diesel delivers 201 hp and 324 lb-ft of twisting force. In G70 Sport guise, Genesis says the sports sedan will accelerate to 62 mph (100 km/h) in a brisk 4.7 seconds, presumably in all-wheel drive guise. Genesis has confirmed that the long-awaited G70 sports sedan will premiere in Seoul, South Korea on September 15. The G70 will share many of its components with its sibling, the Kia Stinger. However, Hyundai says that the G70 will be more dynamically capable than the Stinger, a car which has single-handily revived interest in the Kia brand. Earlier this year, Hyundai Australia’s PR manager Guido Schenken said the G70 will be “shorter, narrower and lighter than Stinger as well as having a shorter wheelbase.” Like the Stinger, range-topping G70 variants will use a twin-turbocharged 3.3-liter V6 engine but grunt may be increased slightly over the Kia’s 365 hp and 376 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque. Beyond competing against its stablemate for sales, the G70 will aim to snatch buyers away from the likes of Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Jaguar. Carscoops

After months of anticipation, BMW has released the first details about the 2018 M5. Described as the "most exciting and emotionally enthralling high-performance sedan" ever created by BMW M, the car is powered by a 4.4-liter M TwinPower Turbo V8 engine that produces 600 PS (592 hp) and more than 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. The engine is connected to an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission which enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in less than 3.5 seconds. As expected, the new M5 will be equipped with an M xDrive all-wheel drive system. The specially designed system uses a "central intelligence unit" that delivers integrated control of longitudinal and lateral dynamics. Genesis will reveal its G70 sports sedan this year and says the vehicle will show the Kia Stinger a thing or two. The automaker’s answer to the BMW 3-Series and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, the G70 will be underpinned by a rear-wheel drive platform and according to Hyundai Australia, be both lighter and faster than the Stinger, a car which itself can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in a very respectable 4.9 seconds. Speaking about the two cars, Hyundai Australia’s PR manager Guido Schenken told Motoring that "the Genesis G70 and [Kia] Stinger represent different design philosophies and positions in the market." "The Stinger is a five door touring sedan with a hatch, while the G70 is a pure sports sedan. We've been looking at sketches for the upcoming Volkswagen Arteon for months now. The wait will soon be over, as the German automaker has pledged to unveil the new model at the Geneva Motor Show next month – but not before it gives us just a coupe more teasers. Arteon is what VW will call its replacement for the CC, described as a “premium mid-size” fastback, positioned above the Passat. We'd expect it, however, to slot below where the Phaeton once sat (and where the Phideon does in China). Despite what promises to be a sleek silhouette, though, Volkswagen promises “an interior architecture which is exceptionally spacious – with ample head and leg room at all seats.” The manufacturer hasn't revealed much more than that at the moment, except to say that the Arteon will incorporate advanced driver assistance systems, the likes of which we'd typically expect to find only in higher-end luxury automobiles. Mercedes-AMG are not only working on their dedicated hypercar, baptized the Project One, but also on a new concept, which will reportedly debut at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Offering a preview of the CLS Shooting Brake replacement, the four-door study is based on Mercedes-Benz's specially modified MRA modular rear architecture, which is also used in the AMG C63, E63 and S63, Autocar reports. Known as the GT4, it uses the heart of the latest AMG performance models, the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8, and is said to feature new twin-scroll turbochargers fitted between the cylinder banks. With this recipe, induction qualities are to be improved over the standard version of the engine. The Chevrolet SS, one of the  most honest and talented four-door models of the market , is apparently heading to its extinction this year. The confirmation came from Alan Batey, President of GM North America according to  WardsAuto . It will be a sad day when the SS ceases to exist but we all knew that this was approaching fast; the slow sales didn’t help the SS but to be fair, Chevrolet didn’t do much to promote it either. Essentially the left-hand drive version of the Holden Commodore, the Chevrolet SS was praised by many, but bought by too few. Many people and the press saw  a true spiritual successor of the E39 M5  in the SS, and that means a lot to the right ears.  It was also offered with a six-speed manual gearbox as well, but these days no one is really  looking to buy a thirsty V8-powered four-door  that demands you do the work of shifting. As promised, Kia has turned its impressive  2011 GT rear-wheel drive sports sedan concept  into an equally impressive production model named the Stinger that was presented today ahead of a world premiere  tomorrow in Detroit . It’s not the Korean firm’s first attempt at a luxury rear wheel drive sedan, as  the K900 preceded it , but unlike the latter, the Stinger is a much more youthful and striking proposition.  It has a sleek design with somewhat derivative details – especially the rear, which strongly reminds us of  the Audi A7 Sportback , but we guess that’s to be expected when the person leading Kia’s design division is ex-Audi designer, Peter Schreyer.  While placed against both the BMW 3-Series and  4-Series Gran Coupe , as well as the Audi A4 and A5, Infiniti Q50 and Lexus IS, Kia says that, at 114.4 inches (2,905mm), it not only has a longer wheelbase than those models, but the Lexus GS and Mercedes CLS as well.  Furthermore, it’s...
