Nissan's IMx Crossover Concept Is All-Electric And Fully-Autonomous

An all-electric and fully-autonomous crossover concept, dubbed the Nissan IMx, has just premiered at the Tokyo Motor Show. Teased on numerous occasions in the past week, the IMx concept adopts the Japanese firm’s EV platform and therefore features a large cabin, low center of gravity and promises to provide “sharp handling.” Power is provided by two electric motors, one driving the rear wheels and one powering the front. All up, they deliver 320 kW (429 hp) and 700 Nm of torque and receive juice from a high-capacity battery that provides a range of over 600 km (372 miles), significantly more than the new Nissan Leaf. As mentioned, the concept features an updated version of Nissan ProPILOT which allows for fully-autonomous driving. When a human driver enables the system, the steering wheel is automatically stowed in the dashboard and the seats are reclined.
