Image
The H2 and H3 were Hummer’s bread and butter, and the company is returning to its roots with the all-new 2024 GMC Hummer EV SUV. Unveiled during the NCAA’s Final Four basketball tournament, via a commercial narrated by LeBron James, the GMC Hummer EV SUV is an electric heavyweight that will get people talking. The model follows in the footsteps of the pickup and features a familiar front end with an illuminated grille that is flanked by slender headlights. Below, there’s a beefy skid plate and prominent D-rings. Moving further back, the model has bulging fenders and an upright windscreen. The Infinity Roof carries over from the pickup and features removable Sky Panels that can be stored in the frunk. However, the big news is the fully enclosed rear end which has a full-size spare tire out back. While the model looks good in standard form, owners will be able to extensively customize the SUV as nearly 200 accessories will be available at launch. The model can also be equipped with an Ex...

Hummer Returns As A 1,000 HP Electric Pickup From GMC

Image
Nearly a decade after the last Hummer rolled off the assembly line, the brand is back and more powerful than ever. Introduced earlier, the 2022 GMC Hummer EV marks the return of an icon and a glimpse into GM’s electric future. Looking far more streamlined than previous models, the GMC Hummer EV features a minimalist grille which is flanked by slender LED headlights. However, they’re largely an afterthought as the front end is dominated by a massive bumper and skid plate which hint at the model’s off-road prowess. Continuing further back, we can see pronounced fender flares and a short windscreen.  The model also has a relatively flat roof with removal panels that allow for a truly open-air experience. The panels are transparent and can be stored in the frunk when removed.  While the windshield doesn’t fold down like on the Jeep Gladiator, the rear window can be electronically lowered. Out back, there’s LED taillights and a heavy duty bumper with D-rings.  The model also h...

After months of rumors and speculation, General Motors has confirmed Hummer is making a comeback. The company is keeping details under wraps, but the first new Hummer will be an electric pickup with 1,000 hp (746 kW / 1,014 PS) and 11,500 lb-ft (15,574 Nm) of torque. This will enable the model to rocket from 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) in just three seconds. The model is dubbed the “GMC Hummer EV” and it will be officially unveiled on May 20th. In the meantime, the company released a teaser image which shows the model will have a slender six slot grille and LED headlights.  Further below, we can see a rugged front bumper and offset GMC badging. Additional details are hard to make out, but there’s sculpted hood and squared off mirrors.  The model also appears to have the roof-mounted lights just the iconic H2. Besides the teaser image, GMC announced plans to feature the pickup in a Super Bowl commercial called “Quiet Revolution.”  The 30 second spot will air during the...
