Touring Superleggera’s Sciàdipersia Is A Drop Top Time Machine

Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera has used the Geneva Motor Show to introduce their new Sciàdipersia Cabriolet. Created as a follow up to last year’s Sciàdipersia Coupe, the convertible is based on the Maserati GranCabrio and features a handcrafted exterior with lightweight aluminum body panels and carbon fiber components. The model has a bit of retro vibe and Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera says the “sharp edges and flat surfaces revert to suggestions of elegant styles from the 1970s.” Regardless of how you feel about the design, the car is certainly unique and its rear end has stylish combination of soft curves and angled surfaces. The cabin largely carries over from the GranCabrio, but buyers can select their own trim and upholstery combinations. In the case of this particular car, the owner ordered chocolate leather with cream accents and orange contract stitching. Power is provided by a naturally aspirated 4.7-liter V8 engine that produces 454 hp (338 kW / 460 PS)...

Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera Sciadipersia Is A Maserati GranTurismo In A Bespoke Suit

We haven’t heard much from Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera since the company unveiled the Disco Volante Spyder a couple of years ago but the coachbuilder has just revealed plans for an all-new model. Set to debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week, the Sciadipersia is based on the Maserati GranTurismo and features unique bodywork that makes it virtually unrecognizable. The donor car’s aggressive front fascia has been replaced by a more conservative unit which is tapered and has chrome accents. The model also features new headlights and a ventilated hood. The styling changes continue further back as the Sciadipersia has custom fenders, a distinctive greenhouse and eye-catching pillars with bright accents. Continuing to the rear, buyers will find a new window which resides above a bespoke trunk and custom rear fascia.
