Hot on the heels of last week’s Q4 e-tron and the e-tron GT from earlier this year, Audi has unveiled the A6 e-tron concept at the 2022 Shanghai Motor show. It’s said that the only thing this concept shares with the “traditional” A6 is its dimensions, measuring 4.96 m (195.3 in) long, 1.96 m (77.2 in) wide, and 1.44 m (56.7 in) high. It’s a bold statement from a company that intends to offer more electric vehicles to US consumers than any other luxury brand by the end of 2021. The A6 e-tron concept previews the first Audi to be built on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) platform. Others expected to join in 2022 will be the Q5 e-tron and Q6 e-tron. Audi has just shown off their latest addition to a growing range of electric-only models: a sleek four-door performance sedan with a low roofline and coupe-like lines. The e-tron GT is undoubtedly one of the most striking Audi designs we’ve seen in years, and sits towards the top of the luxury car maker’s model hierarchy — both in terms of pricing and new tech. With the e-tron GT, Audi aims to balance everyday usability with sports performance, as the brand aims to offer a prime competitor to both the Tesla Model S, and the Porsche Taycan. It sits on the VW Group’s high-end J1 Performance Platform designed by Porsche with the e-tron GT sharing its building blocks with the Taycan. Electric crossovers are becoming a staple of the Los Angeles Auto Show and Audi has used the event to unveil the new e-tron Sportback. Essentially a sportier version of the standard e-tron, the Sportback is a stylish crossover coupe with an electric powertrain. The front end is instantly recognizable and features a prominent Singleframe grille with a light platinum gray finish. It is flanked by sporty air intakes and newly available digital matrix LED headlights. The latter are a first for a mass-production vehicle and the light projected from them is broken down into tiny pixels which can be controlled with “exceptional precision.” Audi says the headlights each feature a micromirror that can be tilted up to 5,000 times per second. This allows them to illuminate or mask out areas with amazing accuracy. Audi is previewing its next electric vehicle, the e-tron Sportback, with a namesake prototype at the Geneva Motor Show. Displaying a dizzying orange, black and grey camouflage pattern, the e-tron Sportback Prototype envisions a sportier, coupe SUV version of the e-tron SUV. As with the model that will soon arrive in dealerships, the e-tron Sportback uses components from Audi’s modular longitudinal platform (MLB). While it doesn’t use a bespoke EV architecture, the new model features electric quattro all-wheel drive, fast charging with up to 150 kW and “a range suitable for long-distance journeys.” While Audi doesn’t offer any more details, we should expect the e-tron Sportback to use the same powertrain as the e-tron SUV. In said model, two electric motors produce a combined 402 hp (407 PS) and 490 lb-ft (664 Nm) of torque. The Audi Q4 e-tron concept SUV has just premiered at the Geneva Motor Show which opened today for the Press and on Thursday for the public. It shares many styling traits with other ‘e-tron’ badged models in Audi’s range, but also has enough unique characteristics. At the front, the Q4 e-tron concept features a large silver faux front grille and a set of angular air intakes. There’s also a glowing e-tron badge in the lower part of the bumper and a pair of slim headlights which appear slightly softer than the aggressive lights found on other Audi models, including the Q8. Being a concept, it sits on a set of massive wheels and tires which probably won’t make their way into production. The rear end is dominated by a pair of taillights with a mixture of sharp lines and curved edges connected with an LED light bar stretching the width of the rear. The Geneva Motor Show kicks off next week and Audi is gearing up for the event by releasing a new teaser for the Q4 e-tron concept. Designed to preview an upcoming production model, the concept is an electric crossover which is slated to feature an aggressive design. That being said, the Q4 e-tron has a large Singleframe grille that resides above prominent e-tron badging. It’s also interesting to note the concept uses traditional side mirrors instead of video camera mirrors like the 2019 e-tron (in some markets, at least). Previous sketches have suggested the concept will have a rakish windscreen and a ‘floating’ roof. We can also expect plastic body cladding, a thick rear pillar and heavily stylized bodywork. Audi‘s new e-tron GT Concept looks like it could take not just LA, but also the world by storm. It measures about the same as an A7 Sportback, while looking a lot more aggressive. The concept measures 4.96 m (16.2 ft) in length and 1.96 m (6.43 ft) in width, which as previously stated, are A7 Sportback numbers, something we don’t mind at all. As for its height and its wheelbase, we’re dealing with 1.38 meters (4.5 feet) and 2.90 meters (9.5 feet) respectively. The e-tron GT Concept was born out of a direct collaboration between Audi Sport and Porsche, beginning with the platform (same one used on the Taycan), and including the battery pack. While an exact range hasn’t been specified, the fully electric e-tron GT is expected to travel for over 400 km (248 miles) on a single charge, and can be charged to 80% of its capacity in around 20 minutes thanks to its 800-volt system, for a range of about 199 miles (320 km). Audi has finally unveiled the e-tron SUV, its first model in a fleet of all-electric vehicles set to launch in the coming years. The German marque says the e-tron SUV is its first “fully electric production model”, perhaps forgetting about the unsuccessful Audi R8 e-tron. Nevertheless, the e-tron SUV is certainly the marque’s first mass-production EV and acts as a direct rival to the Mercedes-Benz EQC and Tesla Model X. Powering the Audi e-tron SUV are two asynchronous motors that work alongside a generous 95 kWh battery pack. Audi hasn’t released horsepower and torque figures but says the SUV accelerates from 0-60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.5 seconds and continues through to a 124 mph (200 km/h) top speed. The vehicle’s electric motors are about much more than performance, however.
