Following a handful of teasers, Alpine has taken the wraps off the new A110S. They are backed up by a Brembo braking system with orange calipers and 12.6-inch (320 mm) discs. Elsewhere, designers installed black Alpine badging and a flag detail that features carbon fiber accents. An assortment of options will be available including lightweight alloy wheels, a matte paint job and a carbon fiber roof which is 4.1 lbs (1.9 kg) lighter than the conventional roof. The unique styling continues in the cabin as drivers will find Sabelt sport seats with black Dinamica upholstery and orange contrast stitching. Alpine A110 Hits Geneva With Pure, Legende And GT4 Versions

Image
Renault’s reborn Alpine brand has been getting rave reviews for its new A110 and now, as promised, it’s revealed new versions of its coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the sold-out Premiere Edition, the A110 will now be offered in Pure and Legende trims. The A110 Pure is targeted at driving enthusiasts. It features one-piece Sabelt sports seats that weigh barely more than 13 kilograms (28.6 pounds) each and, combined with other weight-saving measures, helps keep the curb weight below 1,100 kg ( 2,425 lbs). It’s not entirely stripped out, though, and still comes with features like air-conditioning and satellite navigation. Buyers can also add upgraded Brembo brakes and an adaptive exhaust system and can upgrade to the adjustable comfort seats. Those come standard on the Legende model, which is geared more towards every day driving and grand touring and comes with leather upholstery. Customers can also choose between two Focal sound systems and two wheel...

Set to enter competition next year, the A110 Cup will be eligible to compete in the Alpine Europa Cup which will consist of 12 races next year at tracks such as Paul Ricard, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps. The car also boasts a roll cage and a high-performance Brembo braking system. Alpine Teases A110 Cup Racer

Image
Alpine has released a single teaser of the race-prepped version of its new A110 sports car. Dubbed the A110 Cup, the French manufacturer has confirmed that the racer will be designed, built and sold by racing company Signatech and compete in a one-make series consisting of approximately 20 entries. The fine details about the championship are still being ironed out but the teaser shows that a decent amount of design work has already been done on the race car. Among the changes separating it from the road car include a wider front track, racing wheels and tires, a tow hook and hood latches. To ensure the A110 Cup meets FIA regulations, Signatech will also fit a rollcage and strip the interior of any superfluous items. Numerous aerodynamic modifications will also be made to the exterior but it’s hard to say if the 247 hp, 1.8-liter turbo four will also be modified for the series. Alpine will release more details about the A110 Cup in September. Carscoops

Lightweight Alpine A110 Coupe Detailed, Gets A 247HP 1.8Lt Turbo

Image
Alpine has finally revealed in full the new A110 Berlinette, a lightweight mid-engined sports car destined to rival the likes of the Porsche Cayman and the Alfa Romeo 4C.  The new A110 is based on an all-aluminum platform with the also aluminum body bonded, riveted and welded to it in order to provide a very rigid, yet light basis for the new French sports car.  How light you say? Well, the new A110 tips the scales at only 1,080kg (2,380lbs) with no options fitted. Combined with the turbocharged 1.8-litre unit that makes 247hp and 236 lb-ft (320Nm) of peak torque, the new Alpine gets a really exciting power-to-weight ratio of 231hp/tonne, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in 4.5 seconds and top out at an electronically limited 155mph (250km/h). The engine is paired to a Getrag seven-speed wet-clutch DCT ‘box, with gear ratios specifically tailored for the A110’s needs. There are three driver modes (Normal, Sport, Track) which adapt the engine, the...

Say Hello To The All-New Alpine A110 [New Pics]

Image
There's a new Alpine sports car out, and it's coming to challenge the likes of the Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche 718 Cayman. Part of Renault's resurrected Alpine brand, it looks pretty much identical to the Vision Concept that debuted last year, bar some minor nips and tucks that push it closer to the assembly line. Baptized the A110, which "reflects the timeless principles of compact size, light weight and agility that made the success of the Berlinette", it features a full aluminum platform and upper body, with obvious benefits in weight and handling. Despite unveiling their first product in decades, Alpine are keeping key specifications hidden away, up until the new A110 makes its public debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, on March 7, at 1:15 pm CET (7:15 am EST). However, previous intel tells us that the all-new Alpine A110 could feature a 1.8-liter turbo'd four-banger for propulsion, developing between 250 and 300 horses. Expect it to hit 100 km/h...

Alpine Serves Up Another A120 Coupe Teaser Ahead Of Geneva Debut

Image
Alpine's upcoming A120 sports car will finally be revealed to the world on March 7th at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show. By now, we've seen so many teasers, spy images and renderings, we wouldn't be surprised if Alpine kept teasing the car...even after its unveiling next month. Seriously though, the French automaker made sure to build up as much anticipation as it could for the A120, with its latest efforts including two camouflaged prototypes running around the streets of Paris. The unveiling will take place in Hall 4 of the Palexpo at precisely 1:15 PM local time on March 7th, but also on the automaker's official website. By then, we'll hopefully receive confirmation regarding the power unit inside the A120, which at this moment is expected to be a turbocharged 1.8-liter four-pot, with anywhere between 250 and 300 horsepower. Its estimated 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 4.5 seconds is also somewhat of an unknown at this time. With a price tag of rou...

Alpine A120 Shows Off Its Lightweight One-Piece Bucket Seats Ahead Of Geneva Debut

Image
Alpine continues the teasing game of their upcoming A120 sports car, this time by revealing its lightweight one-piece sport seats. The revived French sports carmaker remains faithful to their traditional low-weight mantra, with the seats being positively affected as well.  For  the new A120 , Alpine has developed a pair of seats that offer excellent lateral support and comfort and tip the scales at just 13.1kg (28.8lbs) each. The seats feature an one-piece shell and visible support rails and Alpine claims that they are up to 50 percent lighter when compared to those used in some of their competitors. Oh, and they are partially covered in quilted leather as well.  Alpine’s new sports car will be based on  a new mid-engined aluminum chassis  with the bodywork also made out of the same material while being powered by a turbocharged 1.8-litre four-cylinder unit with around 250 to 300hp.  The Renault-owned French company also says that their new model will...

Alpine Drops New A120 Teasers Ahead Of Possible Geneva Premiere

Image
Alpine's all-new sports car, believed to be  called the A120 , will come with "remarkable aerodynamics". As revealed in the short text that accompanies these  latest teasers , the French Porsche Cayman and Alfa Romeo 4C rival will feature a "technique carried over from the world of supercars", which sees the addition of a flat floor and a diffuser, incorporated into the rear bumper. Due to this recipe,  Alpine says  that the need for a rear wing has been eliminated completely, thus improving the aerodynamic efficiency and allowing "the design team and engineers to achieve the sleek, fluid upper body shape", which should be appreciated by customers. Powering the  new A120  is believed to be a 1.8-liter turbocharged petrol unit, derived from the 1.6-liter engine that sits under the hood of the  Renault Clio RS . The lump is expected to develop a healthy 250-300 HP, allowing the sports car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds, ...

Alpine Attending Geneva Show, A120 Premiere Is Likely

Image
Renault's resurrected brand Alpine may be keeping quiet on where the  new A120 sports car will debut , but it seems that the 2017 Geneva Motor Show has been selected.  The event, which opens its gates for the press on March 7, will see the Alpine stand in Hall 4, as it was confirmed by the  plan  of the show, where other manufacturers, including Renault, Nissan, Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Suzuki, Isuzu, and SsangYong, will join it.  Despite the fact that Alpine started taking reservations for the  Premiere Edition  last month, not much is known about the production model, except that it comes with a choice of three colors, needs 4.5 seconds to go from rest to 100 km/h (62 mph), and has a starting price of €55,000-€60,000 (~$59,000-64,000) in its home market of France.  Going up against the likes of the  Alfa Romeo 4C  and  Porsche Cayman , the new Alpine A120 is believed to use a 1.8-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which is likely d...

2017 Alpine sports car puts on production body

Image
The famous Alpine A110 is about to be revived by Renault through a brand new mid-engine sports car that will be sold under the “Alpine” brand starting next year. Seen here is a near-production prototype of the lightweight coupe carrying its own body, unlike previous test vehicles that have been spotted using  Lotus Exige bodies The retro-flavored exterior design is noticeable right away even though the prototype caught on camera was clad in camouflage. Alpine has already previewed the car with two concepts, the  2015 Alpine Celebration  and the more recent  Alpine Vision  unveiled back in February this year. The company has made the promise that the production car will have about 80 percent of the Vision’s design. As a matter of fact, the only differences we are seeing at the moment are the bigger side mirrors and the conventional door handles. Some other things might have changed, but it’s hard to notice any other modifications because of the white and ...
