2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB Is A Seven-Seater Arriving Later This Year

Image
The long-awaited 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLB has just been launched as the latest addition to the German car manufacturer’s huge fleet of SUVs. As its name implies, the Mercedes-Benz GLB slots nicely between the GLA and the GLC with its 111.4-inch long wheelbase. The SUV will be available as a seven-seater but Mercedes is still referring to the vehicle as forming part of its “global compact car family.” Speaking of seven seats, customers can opt to have two retractable individual seats installed in the third row. There are also side window airbags for third-row passengers as well as two drink holders between the back seats and a number of stowage compartments which include USB-C ports. If customers don’t need seven seats, they can purchase the GLB as a five-seater with a second row which can be folded in a ratio of 40:20:40 and includes seats with backrest inclination adjustment. As we expected, the exterior design of the GLB is virtually identical to the recent concept. Consequ...

New Mercedes Concept GLB Features Rugged Looks In Compact Form

Image
Mercedes has revealed the new Concept GLB at the eve of the Shanghai Auto Show, essentially previewing the brand’s new compact SUV which will be positioned as the most practical sibling of the GLA. As expected, the new Mercedes GLB adopts a chunkier appearance that in its thinly-veiled “concept” form is further aided by the use of fat off-road tires, extra body cladding and a roof rack. The Concept GLB won’t remain a concept for long, as Mercedes confirmed that the final production version will be revealed this summer. The new Mercedes SUV measures 4634mm long, 1890mm wide and 1900mm tall and rides on a 2829mm-long wheelbase, offering space for up to seven passengers in its interior. The concept also features LED spotlights above the windshield and 17-inch bi-color wheels. The interior shares most of its design with the A-Class, featuring the trademark twin-display setup that hosts the brand’s MBUX infotainment system. Since this is a showcar, all interior surfaces are...

Mercedes-Benz Will Launch GLB Concept At Shanghai Auto Show

Image
Mercedes has used the social media to announce it will launch its GLB Concept to the 2019 Shanghai Auto Show, which kicks off in mid-April. The announcement is accompanied by a teaser image, which provides a glimpse inside the show car, revealing an almost production-ready interior with the MBUX dual-screen setup as the dominating feature. Elsewhere, there are three air vents in the middle of the dashboard, climate control settings right underneath and a large stowage space further down, just like in the scooped prototypes. The study also gets a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function and other equipment that will be detailed in due course. Slotting between the GLA and GLC, the GLB is a rather boxy-looking premium subcompact SUV, just like the discontinued GLK. It’s expected to use a variety of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines, coming from the rest of the brand’s compact models, and will also receive two AMG ve...
