Chevy Unveils New Colorado ZR2 Bison Performance Truck

Image
Chevrolet has unveiled an all-new performance version of their midsize Colorado pickup truck, dubbed the ZR2 Bison. The vehicle was built in collaboration with aftermarket firm American Expedition Vehicles (AEV). In order to offer buyers maximum levels of protection for key undercarriage elements while traversing rocky and jagged terrain, the Bison comes equipped with five skid plates covering the engine oil pan, fuel tank, transfer case and front and rear differentials. AEV designed both the skid plates as well as the front and rear bumpers out of durable hot-stamped Boron steel. The front bumper features winch provisions and standard fog lights, while the rear one has integrated recovery points. “The Colorado Z71 offers a full suite of off-road equipment, the maneuverability of a midsize truck and the driving range of a class-exclusive diesel engine. The Colorado ZR2 offers even greater off-road capability with class-exclusive front and rear locking differentials and Mult...

Chevrolet Introduces Redline Special Editions For Nine Of Its Models

Image
Mere hours after Nissan introduced its  Midnight Edition package  to six models, Chevrolet has announced that it will introduce the Redline special edition series to no less than nine of its models. Chevrolet first debuted its Redline series at the  SEMA Show in 2015  and will now roll it out for the Cruze LT,  Malibu  LT, Camaro SS and LT, Trax LT, Equinox LT, Traverse Premier, Colorado LT, Silverado Double Cab LT Z71 and Silverado Crew Cab LTZ Z71. All models in the Redline series come equipped with black wheels featuring red accents, blacked-out grilles, black badges and black Chevrolet bowtie logos. From here, the individual models start to differ depending on the preferences of customers. For example, the Camaro Redline incorporates black vinyl above the front wheels while the Silverado and Colorado feature red tow hooks. Speaking about the series, Chevrolet’s U.S. vice president Brian Sweeney said “Our special edition lineup has been popular with c...

Chevy Show Trucks Tackle The Sand To Get To SEMA

Image
Chevy has brought three customized show trucks to SEMA this year. Each is made to drive through sand (like the Nevada desert surrounding Las Vegas where the show is held), but each takes a different starting point and a different approach. The smallest of the trio is the  Trax  Active concept. Based on GM's tiniest crossover, the show truck has been prepped for the dunes with a lifted suspension and wider track, fitted with 18-inch wheels and all-terrain rubber. The front and rear bumpers have also been reprofiled to improve the vehicle's approach and departure angles, while a Thule roof rack gives it more cargo capacity and a place to mount the LED auxiliary light bar. The whole thing is painted in a suitably marshal shade of matte beige, with carbon trim, red tow hooks, and a jet-black interior. Too small? The Trax is joined by a Colorado pickup that looks no less combative with its green paintjob, but has actually been designed by Hurley with surfers in mind. It's bas...

Facelifted 2017 Chevrolet S10 / Overseas Colorado Spied Undisguised

Image
What is believed to be the facelifted 2017 Chevrolet S10, also  known as the Colorado  (but not to be confused with the  North American model ), has been caught without any camouflage. Sold since 2012 as the Chevrolet S10 in some markets, including Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, and the Chevrolet Colorado in others like Thailand, as well as the  Holden Colorado in Australia  and New Zealand, GM’s international mid-size pickup truck is getting a mid-cycle update four years after its introduction.  The front three-quarter picture reveals a new front end design that ditches the current model’s softer and rounder snout for a more chiseled and square look with reshaped lights and bumper, and a new split grille, which bring it closer in appearance to the  North American Colorado .  There don’t seem to be any changes made to the truck’s profile, but GM could give the S10/Colorado a tweaked set of rear lights and an updated interior.  Being that th...
