Chinese Qiantu K50 Electric Sports Car Coming To NY Auto Show
Mullen Technologies and Qiantu Motors carry on with their plan to build and sell the K50 electric sports car in the United States from 2020. California-based Mullen Technologies has announced the Qiantu K50 will debut at the New York Auto Show in April. The K50 is based on a modular and flexible platform that “can accommodate battery configurations and technologies which render upgraded model development possible as a next step,” according to the press release posted on the NY Auto Show’s website. The vehicle features an all-aluminum body frame with a body-in-white weight of just 515 lbs (234 kg) and 29 carbon fiber body panels that weigh 103 lbs (47 kg). The sports coupe features two electric motors (one on each axle for AWD capability) with a combined output of 300 kW (402 hp/407 PS).
