DS has officially unveiled the all-new DS3 Crossback. Featuring “distinctive sculptural styling,” the crossover has a prominent grille which is flanked by DS Matrix LED Vision headlights and vertical LED daytime running lights. The Crossback also has plastic body cladding, a relatively flat roof and a controversial ‘wave’ accent near the B-pillar. While the styling won’t win everyone over, the model has flush-mounted door handles which are similar to the ones used on the Range Rover Velar. They automatically deploy when the crossover is unlocked and then retract when the vehicle is locked. Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a digital instrument cluster, a head-up display and a 10.3-inch infotainment system. Other highlights include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, diamond-shaped air vents and a 12-speaker Focal audio system. DS Automobiles will reveal its latest product this Thursday, on September 13, at the DS Design Studio in Paris. The event will be streamed over the web, and one teaser image released on social media appears to shed some light on the case. The French upmarket brand will most likely reveal the DS3 Crossback, their smallest crossover to date, which according to a set of leaked patent images, looks pretty much like a smaller DS7 Crossback. In these patent images, the DS3 Crossback’s design is very much DS-ish, with lots of curves and trademark detailing, creating a small SUV that looks ready to take on the Mini Countryman and Audi Q2. DS’ designers have went for a very funky cabin too, featuring diamond-shaped details. DS Automobiles is looking to take a major step towards luxury, comfort and autonomous driving with the brand new DS 7 Crossback. In terms of styling, the automaker wanted to make the DS 7 Crossback instantly recognizable, both from the front as well as from the rear, regardless of time of day. In order to achieve this, an emphasis was placed on the light signature, as the LED modules of the DS Active LED Vision headlights resemble faceted jewels, emitting a purple light when the car is unlocked, before pivoting 180°. The light signature is further emphasized by the vertical beads of the DRLs, working together with the scrolling indicators, whereas for the rear, each light is a full LED made from illuminated scales. Images showing the new mid-size SUV from Citroen's DS luxury brand driving on the streets and with absolutely no camouflage have surfaced online. The license plate of the undisguised car appears to read DS 7 Crossback. Whatever it’s called, we know it will be the brand’s first SUV sold in Europe and directly rival the Audi Q5 and BMW X4 as the French firm looks to tackle the big German three. The images  reveal that the DS 7 SUV adopts an exterior design quite different from the company’s existing fleet of models. Most notably, the front incorporates sharp new headlights rather than the more circular design of the DS 3. Additionally, we can see LED daytime running lights that have a slight curve to them as well as independent round fog lights. Beneath the skin, it has already been confirmed that the new DS will be underpinned by PSA’s EMP2 platform.  When it hits the market, it will also be the first  DS  model offered with a plug-in hybrid powertrain as well...
