2019 Toyota 86 TRD Special Edition Unveiled With Brembo Brakes, Sporty Body Kit

Image
Following a report earlier this month, Toyota has officially unveiled the 2019 86 TRD Special Edition. Billed as an “ultimate performance” model, the car has been equipped with a number of new components including Brembo brakes and SACHS dampers which promise to “further sharpen” the 86’s steering and stability. The car also has exclusive 18-inch alloy wheels that are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer tires. Besides the performance changes, the car has been outfitted with a TRD body kit which includes new bumpers, revised side skirts, a rear diffuser and a larger spoiler. The model will be available exclusively in Raven black and each will come with tri-color body stripes and a TRD exhaust system featuring brushed stainless steel tips. The styling changes continue in the cabin as designers installed a two-tone steering wheel and matching sport seats with red and black upholstery. Other highlights include red contrast stitching, red seatbelts and suede-like accents. L...

Mercedes-Maybach Teases Huge Coupe Concept Ahead Of Pebble Beach

Image
Mercedes released a teaser image showing a new Maybach concept, set to debut at the Pebble Beach next week. Measuring six meters in length, the new Maybach concept is expected to wow the crowds with its sheer size and dynamic  two-door coupe bodystyle .  Mercedes published the image through its social media accounts with the caption “Hot & cool - almost 6 meters of ultimate luxury”. Although we haven’t heard of Maybach  planning to launch a new model  anytime soon, this new concept will probably reveal Mercedes’ intentions for its  high-end marque .  Reports say that the new design study is going to exhibit Maybach’s abilities in bespoke coachbuilding, with Mercedes reportedly looking into creating a bespoke car business, like Rolls Royce, Bentley and others.  The impressive concept is going to be revealed at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance on the 21 August, with Mercedes releasing more details ahead of its public debut.

These images from the  CivicX forums  were taken at the Southampton docks in the UK and show the  new 5-door Honda Civic  completely undisguised, ready to get shipped over to the US. The rear is a lot more visible than the front and is really  reminiscent of the prototype  we saw at the 2016 NY Auto Show back in March, when Honda senior VP Jeff Conrad said that this car would attract new enthusiast buyers to the Civic brand. Other visual cues we can take away are the radio's dorsal fin antenna (not present on the prototype) as well as the LaneWatch cameras, situated under each side mirror casing from where they provide drivers with information regarding objects entering their blind spot. In 5-door guise, the Civic still shares its platform and interior layout with the current Sedan and Coupe versions that are already being sold in the US, however, unlike the two, the Hatchback model will be built exclusively at Honda's Swindon plant in the UK - from wher...
