2019 Kia Forte Breaks Cover With Stinger Design Cues And New Tech

Image
Kia has just unveiled the all-new and much-improved 2019 Forte Sedan at this year's Detroit Auto Show. The automaker recently launched a series of renderings that previewed the 2019 Forte, although while the new car does slightly resemble the Stinger, it doesn't quite look as dynamic as it did in those images. Yet, the all-new Kia Forte is said to offer higher levels of comfort than its predecessor, with visual enhancements inside and out, as well as improved fuel efficiency and modern advanced driver assistance technologies. "The compact sedan segment is highly competitive, but with all the improvements the new Forte brings to market for the 2019 model year, it is more than prepared to take on the toughest the segment has to offer," said Kia U.S. VP, Orth Hedrick. "As one of our top-selling models, the all-new Forte follows some large footsteps, but enhancements in styling, packaging and content make it even more attractive to drivers seeking a...

Kia's Bringing A Sleeker New Forte Sedan To Detroit

Image
To the growing list of new cars we can look forward to seeing unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show we can now add the Kia Forte sedan. Previewed in this trio of teaser renderings, the new Forte is slated to replace the current model that was introduced in 2012 and updated for 2017. The all-new 2019 model has been styled to look more like a scaled-down version of the Stinger, the cab-forward design of the current model giving way to a more swept-back profile. The Korean automaker points out the fresh take on its signature tiger-nose grille, the aggressive-looking vents in the front bumper, and the sharp-looking headlights at the front end, with indicators separated from the taillights above and a horizontal strip visually broadening the rear end. The horizontal dashboard design inside aims to give it an airier feel than its compact dimensions would suggest, with a free-standing infotainment screen in the middle and circular air-conditioning vents at the extremes. The sed...

Half A Million Hyundai And Kia Models Recalled Over Brake Light Issue

Image
Over half a million Hyundai and Kia models are being recalled in the United States due to faulty brake lights. According to The Detroit News, 390,000 Hyundai Elantras built between 2013 and 2014, and over 134,000 Kia Fortes from 2012 through 2014, have been recalled as the brake lights may not go out when the pedal is released. Government documents reveal that the polymer stopper pad between the brake pedal arm and the light switch can deteriorate, thus allowing the switch to stay on even when the pedal isn’t depressed. This fault also means the driver can shift out of Park without applying the brakes. To fix the issue, dealerships will replace the brake stopper pad. Kia’s recall will commence on January 30 while Hyundai’s will kick off on February 8. Carscoops

Kia Forte Koup Dead After 2016 Model Year

Image
Kia updated the Forte lineup more than a year ago at the Detroit Auto Show by giving the four-door sedan and five-door hatchback an array of cosmetic tweaks, along with a new S trim, and a 2.0-liter engine. The sleeker Forte Koup was supposed to receive just about the same goodies later in the year, but it never happened. Now we know why. Speaking with CarsDirect, Kia spokesperson James Hope revealed the Forte Koup is going to be axed after the 2016 model year. That means new orders are no longer being taken for the model, but if you’ll hurry, you may still be able to find one in stock at a discontinued price. The EX with the 173-hp 2.0-liter engine is listed on the company’s website with a $19,890 MSRP starting price before destination and handling fees whereas the SX fitted with the beefier 201-hp 1.6-liter turbo is $20,690. In reality, you’ll pay considerably less than that since there’s a $2,500 rebate applicable right now and the dealer might throw in an extra discount as w...
