Kia's Bringing A Sleeker New Forte Sedan To Detroit

To the growing list of new cars we can look forward to seeing unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show we can now add the Kia Forte sedan.

Previewed in this trio of teaser renderings, the new Forte is slated to replace the current model that was introduced in 2012 and updated for 2017.

The all-new 2019 model has been styled to look more like a scaled-down version of the Stinger, the cab-forward design of the current model giving way to a more swept-back profile.

The Korean automaker points out the fresh take on its signature tiger-nose grille, the aggressive-looking vents in the front bumper, and the sharp-looking headlights at the front end, with indicators separated from the taillights above and a horizontal strip visually broadening the rear end.

The horizontal dashboard design inside aims to give it an airier feel than its compact dimensions would suggest, with a free-standing infotainment screen in the middle and circular air-conditioning vents at the extremes.

The sedan is just one bodystyle in the Forte family, but we can expect that potential successors to the Forte Koup and Forte5 hatchback will follow the four-door's lead.
