What you see here is the Hoonitruck – the new set of old wheels that Block will drive in the forthcoming Gymkhana Ten. It’s based on a 1977 Ford F-150 like the one his daddy had. But his daddy’s didn’t pack this much power. In place of the big old hunk of metal with which this pickup was built, Detroit Speed (out of Mooresville, NC) dropped in the 3.5-liter twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 from the Ford GT. But not the road-going GT – this one’s from the Le Mans racer, and produces a massive 914 horsepower (682 kW) and 702 lb-ft (952 Nm) of torque. That’s nearly four times as much power as even the biggest engine offered in the sixth-gen F-150, and it’s channeled to all four of those 20-inch wheels and their Toyo tires through a Sadev six-speed gearbox. Ken Block’s Hoonigan Racing Division team has confirmed it will leave the World Rallycross Championship at the end of this season. The outfit entered the sport in 2016 with backing from Ford and hit the grid with two Ford Focus RS RX models. Racing alongside Block was Andreas Bakkerud and while the squad claimed third position in last year’s driver’s championship, 2017 has been less successful. After releasing  a short teaser video , Ken Block pulled the wraps off its evolved hooning machine based on a 1965 Ford Mustang, the Hoonicorn V2.  The first iteration of the bespoke vehicle already was one of the craziest builds the world had seen, packing an one-off chassis with a 6.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 complete with 845hp transmitted to all four wheels. How do you top out a vehicle like this? With a pair of turbos of course and the kind help of methanol. The now methanol-sipping engine in the Version 2 is now force-fed by a custom twin-turbo setup, sending 21 pounds of boost into it.
