2020 Hyundai Ioniq Facelift Debuts With Styling And Tech Updates

After almost three years in the market and more than 60,000 units sold, the Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and PHEV have been given a facelift. Redesigned bumpers, the brand’s cascading mesh grille and revised optional LED headlamps and taillights will set them apart from the outgoing models. Three more colors have been added to the palette, called Fluidic Metal, Electric Shadow and Liquid Sand. Inside, the 2020 Ioniq has a redesigned control panel for the heating and air conditioning, with a glossy look. Moreover, there’s now an optional 10.25-inch display available for the infotainment system, a first in the segment according to the automaker. Hyundai HyperEconiq Ioniq Coming To SEMA, Returns 80+ MPG

Hyundai has released the first details about the HyperEconiq Ioniq. Set to debut at the SEMA Show later this month, the model was jointly developed with Bisimoto Engineering and is described as an "innovative concept" that combines the "best hypermiling, economy, and friction technologies" available. Starting with the exterior, the Ioniq has been equipped with a Bisimoto Dream Aero kit which includes a carbon fiber front splitter, extended side skirts, and rear wheel covers. Other changes include a rear spoiler and 19-inch carbon fiber wheels that are wrapped in low-rolling resistance tires. Besides the aerodynamic body kit, Bisimoto Engineering installed Buddy Club aluminum brake calipers and a Progress Performance coilover suspension. The latter modification reduces the car's ride height and helps to minimize drag. 2017 Hyundai Ioniq Makes North American Debut In Hybrid, PHEV And EV Flavors

The three distinct versions of Hyundai's new "green" model are making their North American premiere at the  2016 New York Auto Show , following their global presentation  at Geneva  earlier this month.  The  Ioniq Hybrid  is powered by a 1.6-kiter Kappa Atkinson-cycle four-pot mill with 104 HP (105 PS) and 109 lb-ft (148 Nm) of torque that's paired to an electric motor that delivers 43 HP (105 PS) and 125 lb-ft (169 Nm) and a lithium-ion polymer battery, positioned under the passenger seats, for a total system output of 139 HP (141 PS).  On the outside,  the hybrid  sports bi-xenon HID headlights, C-shaped LED DRLs, a hexagonal grille, 15- or 17-inch specially-designed alloy wheels and it comes with a choice of six exterior colors and two unique interior environments, while claiming a total interior volume of 122.7 cubic feet, more than the Toyota Prius.  The Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid has the same internal combustion engine but it packs ...

Hyundai Details Electrified Ioniq Range Prior To Geneva Debut

The  new Ioniq  is the world's first model to be offered with three electrified powertrains, making low-to zero-emission mobility accessible to everyone.  As an important milestone for the company's sustainability energy, the vehicle benefits from a new Kappa 1.6-liter GDI direct injected petrol four-cylinder in the  Hybrid and Plug-In versions , which delivers 105PS (104hp) and 147Nm (108lb-ft) of torque paired to a six-speed double clutch transmission.  In the  Ioniq Hybrid , the electric motor generates 44PS (43hp) and 170Nm (125lb-ft) of torque and takes juice from a lithium-ion-polymer battery with a 1.56kWh capacity, positioned under the rear seats.
