Billed as a no limits beast that is “pure, passionate, mighty and captivating,” the Huayra R is a track-only hypercar that features a new V12-R engine. Designed from the ground up, in partnership with HWA AG, the naturally aspirated 6.0-liter engine is the “lightest, most powerful and efficient track-ready V12 ever created.” It produces an impressive 838 hp (625 kW / 850 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. The engine took more than two years to design and develop, and it screams to a 9000 rpm redline. It also tips the scales at 436 lbs (198 kg) and uses a 200 bar direct injection system that optimizes “performance by ensuring maximum efficiency in terms of thermodynamics and autonomy.” The engine is paired to a new six-speed sequential transmission, which was also developed in collaboration with HWA AG. Pagani has revealed the new Huayra Roadster BC, the topless version of the most aggressive Huayra ever since the model’s original debut back in 2012. As with all Paganis, the new Huayra Roadster BC will be limited to just 40 examples, all of which have already been sold. Pagani’s latest creation is using an evolved version of its own carbo-tanium tub chassis, which is not only lighter but also stronger than ever; the Huayra Roadster BC tips the scales at just 1,250kg (2,755lbs), which is scarily exciting if you consider the power it offers. The twin-turbo 6.0-liter V12 engine is a new unit that’s designed specifically for Pagani by AMG, and will be found in future Paganis as well. Power output is rated at 791hp (802PS) and 775lb-ft (1050Nm) of torque, which should prove enough to make you dizzy each time you sneeze at the throttle. The Pagani Zonda HP Barchetta has just been unveiled at Pebble Beach 2017 and before you ask, it will apparently be the last Zonda. We're not convinced. Just three units of the HP Barchetta are bound for the production line and one of them is said to be going directly into Horacio Pagani’s private collection. It also happens to be one of the wildest Zondas ever produced. The most significant difference between the Barchetta and all other Zondas before it is the chopped windscreen that drastically alters the entire design of the car. As for the rest of the car, it appears to be a mish-mash of parts from a number of one-off Zonda 760 models, including its vented hood, redesigned taillights and rear wheel covers like the Zonda ZoZo. Pagani may be a tiny company with limited research and development resources, but it is already planning two new versions of the Huayra, just after unveiling the Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show. It will come as little surprise to anyone that the first new model on Pagani’s agenda is a BC Roadster. Although Horacio Pagani divulged very few details about the model to Road & Track, it has the potential to be even more capable that the BC coupe. For those that didn’t know, the Huayra Roadster isn’t simply a droptop variant of the coupe. It has been entirely re-engineered and uses a number of technologies from the BC to make it faster and lighter. According to Horacio, the BC Roadster will arrive towards the end of this decade with an undisclosed “surprise”. After the Huayra BC Roadster launches, Pagani will overhaul the coupe for a launch in 2020. Here’s our first completely unobstructed view of the new Pagani Huayra Roadster, revealed ahead of its formal introduction at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. As with its closed-top brethren, the Huayra Roadster is a sight to behold, especially in the display model’s transparent blue carbon fiber finish with an equally impressively detailed three-tone interior. Pagani says the Roadster is more than just a Huayra with a top chopped off, claiming that a whole lot of engineering went into developing the car, culminating with a 6 % or 80kg (176 pounds) reduction in weight over the coupe at 1,280kg (2,822 pounds) while also increasing torsional flexional rigidity. This was largely achieved through the use of new composite materials. Furthermore, the Roadster comes with an upgraded version of the Mercedes-AMG M158 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 764PS (754hp) at 6,200rpm and peak torque of “over 1,000Nm” (737.5 lb-ft) available from 2,400 rpm. The Pagani Huayra isn't the first sports car with gullwing doors – not will it be the first one to be converted into a roadster. The thing is that most every other has lost its roof-hinged doors along with its top in the conversion process. But if this  latest teaser  image is anything to go by, the Huayra won't. For those just joining us, Pagani is preparing to reveal the  Huayra Roadster  at the Geneva Motor Show next month, and has been plying us with new teaser images every week to give us an idea of what to expect. This one is ostensibly a shot of the back of founder  Horacio Pagani 's head, but it's the blurred, camouflaged prototype he's looking at that has us intrigued. As fuzzy as it is, it seems pretty clear to us that those are top-hinged gullwing doors stretching in their open position towards the sky. We take certain things for granted. Water is wet, fire is hot, and convertibles are heavier than the coupes on which they're based. There's just too much extra chassis reinforcement, on top of whatever removable or folding roof mechanism is fitted... right? Well, Pagani is here to tell us otherwise. “From the beginning we set ourselves some pretty ambitious targets,” said  Horacio Pagani  in the statement accompanying this latest teaser image of the forthcoming  Huayra Roadster . “The first, from a technical point of view, was to make a roadster that would be lighter than the coupé, which was already the lightest hypercar on sale at the time.” How's that now? In the lead up to the Geneva Motor Show in March, Pagani has released a new  teaser  image of the upcoming Huayra Roadster. Although it is hard to pinpoint just what part of the car is revealed, it does show an engraved 'Roadster' emblem on a component finished in a beautiful shade of gold. Although Pagani is bound to release more teaser images in the coming weeks, we already know what the droptop Huayra will look like, thanks to numerous  spy shots  and the release of an  official rendering .  Among the most obvious visual changes will be a new diffuser, prominent rear buttresses and aerodynamic flics above the taillights.  As with the coupe, power will continue to come from a twin-turbocharged 6.0-liter V12 AMG engine but power is expected to rise by approximately 20 hp, lifting power to around 750 hp. After the  recent news  of a tailor-made one-off Pagani Huayra Hermes Edition being produced for supercar collector Manny Khoshbin, the Italian supercar brand have now released the one-off Pagani Huayra Pearl. Similar to the Hermes Edition, the Huayra Pearl is another example of what’s possible at Pagani when it comes to exclusive and bespoke supercars. Hand-built in Italy, this particular Pagani Huayra consists of more than 5,000 individual components, that is when both the engine and gearbox are counted as two items. Take a closer look and you can see that the design lines and outer sculpture of this particular Huayra are indeed different from the standard Huayra. According to Pagani, it took their design team almost a year to work on this special edition, incorporating parts and forms from legendary Pagani’s such as the Zonda R, Huayra BC and the Zonda S. Pagani's  new  Huayra BC , which debuts at the  Geneva Motor Show , takes an already excellent hypercar and puts it on a serious diet to create an even more hardcore coupe. The BC name doesn't reference that this machine is capable of transporting its driver back in time, but instead it refers to Benny Caiola who was the company's first customer. The BC retains the Huayra's Mercedes-AMG-sourced 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12, but output increases to over 750 horsepower and 738 pound-feet of torque. The company says the final figures should be ready "soon," and the specs at the bottom of the announcement also show the equivalent of 789 hp, which hints the actual number may be in that range. Pagani doesn't mention performance specs yet, which is probably because the engine output isn't final. Pagani also sheds significant weight off the original coupe. The BC weighs 2,685 pounds versus about 2,976 pounds for a standard  Huayra , depending on specification. ...
