High-performance wagons are an Audi staple and the company isn’t disappointing as they’ve unveiled the all-new RS 6 Avant Set to celebrate its public debut in Frankfurt, the 2020 RS 6 Avant has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 that produces 592 hp (441 kW / 600 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. It is connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission which sends power to a quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the car to rocket from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds, before hitting a limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). Speaking of performance, the wagon comes equipped with a specially tuned adaptive air suspension and a sport differential which promises to “enhance cornering agility by actively splitting torque between each of the rear wheels.” There’s also an optimized steering system which “develops significantly higher return forces as [the] steering angle increases, to provide precise steering feedback.”  Customers will also be able to order an RS ...

This is not the first time that ABT has worked their magic on the Audi RS6 Avant, but their latest (conceptual, for now) project is truly impressive. Building upon the latest iteration of Ingolstadt’s super estate, which received the tuner’s in-house developed engine control unit and modified exhaust system, the RS6-E adds an electric motor in the transmission tunnel. The latter brings “an extra boost to the rear axle at the press of a button”, as ABT explains, and unleashes a combined output of 1,018PS (1,004hp / 750kW) and 1,291Nm (952lb-ft) of torque. The extra muscle represents a 288PS (284hp / 212kW) increase over the previously tuned RS6 Avant, and 413PS (407hp / 304kW) more than the stock model. Audi has taken the wraps off the new RS6 Avant Performance Nogaro Edition. Based on the RS6 Avant Performance, the Nogaro Edition is described as an even more exclusive model as it features a unique blue exterior that pays tribute to the 1994 Audi RS2 which was the first RS model ever created. The car has also been equipped with a gloss black optics package, a titanium exhaust system, and 21-inch wheels with a polished black finish. The unique styling continues in the cabin as the car has blue Alcantara upholstery on the seats, door panels, and knee pads. Designers also installed a black Alcantara headliner, blue contrast stitching, and special floor mats with blue piping. Last but not least, there’s carbon fiber trim with “Nogaro Edition” badging. The blue interior accents are certainly eye-catching but Audi is aware that some owners might consider them a bit tacky.
