Lexus is expanding its LC 500 sports car family with a soft-top convertible that will be celebrating its world premiere at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show on Wednesday. Set to go on sale next summer, the model closely echoes the coupe but adopts a four-layer soft top that has been designed to recreate the flowing roofline of the coupe.  It can be opened or closed in approximately 15-16 seconds at speeds up to 31 mph (50 km/h). The top will be offered in black and beige, and be paired with a stylish body in one of ten colors.  Speaking of the latter, the convertible features a unique rear end with a new tonneau cover and a modified trunk with an integrated third brake light. Lexus LC Convertible Concept Revealed

Image
Lexus has uncovered the LC Convertible Concept ahead of its world premiere that’s scheduled for the 2019 Detroit Auto Show on Monday. Claimed to have come to life as their design team was “exploring the brand’s evolution”, it’s described as “an LC in its most breathtaking form” and serves as a preview for the production model. “This concept takes the unmistakable design of the LC Coupe and reimagines it as a future convertible”, said Chief Designer Tadao Mori. “It blends all the best aspects of the original Coupe with the dynamic design of an open-air convertible.” At 4,770 mm (187.8 in) long, 1,920 mm (75.6 in) wide and 1,340 mm (52.8 in) tall, the LC Convertible is 10 mm (0.4 in) longer and sits 5 mm (0.2 in) lower than its fixed roof sibling. The wheelbase length has remained the same as the Coupe, at 2,870 mm (113 in). Lexus chose to keep the design of the car identical to the LC Coupe – bar the folding top, of course. However, there are a few special touches...

1000th Post Special: Cars and Coffee Riyadh 2017

SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR READERS: I'm a car guy. I've been into cars since I was a little boy, but I fully realized my passion when I was 11. A few years later, I joined Facebook, and shortly afterwards I created a page where I could share my passion with other people, people who are just like me. 6 years later though, and I've only managed to get around 1,800 likes. So I thought the next step would be to create a website. I started out on WordPress, but after only a year I moved to Blogger because I thought it was far easier. Now, 15 months and 27,000+ views, I am creating this, my 1,000th post. I could've never imagined the numbers I got with this site, with close to 2,000 views per month. So, I would like to thank everyone who visits this site, and I have more exciting content coming soon! A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to visit the Saudi Cars and Coffee 2017, held at The Boulevard Hotel in Riyadh. It was the first time I got to visit a CNC event...
