New Lamborghini Huracan STO Is A Super Trofeo Racer For The Street

Image
Lamborghini has officially unveiled the Huracan STO and judging by its aero prowess and performance figures, this is shaping up to be one of the most track-competent supercars in the world. Let’s start with its 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 unit and get the fact that it doesn’t produce any more power than it does in the Huracan Evo out of the way. This means 631 HP (640 PS). However, everything goes to the rear wheel exclusively in the STO. Other meaningful stats include the 565 Nm (417 lb-ft) of torque, which is actually less than you get in the Huracan Evo (600 Nm / 443 lb-ft), but also the 2.09 kg/HP weight to power ratio. As you may have guessed, this Huracan has been on a diet and it’s now 43 kg (95 lbs) lighter than the already lightweight Performante variant. This all translates to the asphalt as follows: 0-62 mph (100 km/h) in 3 seconds flat, 0-124 mph (200 km/h) in 9 seconds flat, and a top speed of 192 mph (310 km/h). “The Huracán STO delivers all the excitement of a beau...

Lamborghini Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster Revealed In Pebble Beach

Image
Monterey Car Week continues as Lamborghini has taken the wraps off the new Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster. Following in the footsteps of last year’s SVJ 63 coupe, the roadster is a limited edition supercar that pays tribute to the company’s founding in 1963. Jointly created by Lamborghini’s Centro Stile and Ad Personam teams, the Aventador SVJ 63 Roadster will be available in eight exclusive “design expressions.” Each will feature matte or shiny carbon fiber on the windshield frame, engine cover and roof. The car also has an SVJ 63 livery and special Leirion forged wheels with a matte titanium finish. Interior changes are minor, but drivers will find carbon fiber trim, CarbonSkin accents and one of three different Alcantara color schemes.  There’s also individually numbered badges. Power is provided by a familiar 6.5-liter V12 engine that produces 759 hp (566 kW / 770 PS) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed transmission which sends power t...

Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato Concept Is An All-Terrain Supercar

Image
Blue-blooded supercars can only be driven on silky-smooth roads. Well, there’s a first time for everything: meet the Huracan Sterrato, Lamborghini’s latest concept, which allows its occupants to explore dirt roads without being afraid of damaging anything or being stranded after veering off tarmac. Based on the Huracan Evo, the Sterrato (Italian for ‘dirt’) gets some of the Urus’ expertise and features plenty of upgrades, all of which make it an off-road ready supercar. The ride height has been increased by 47 mm (1.9 in), the front approach has been sharpened by 1 percent and the departure angle by 6.5 percent. Lamborghini has also widened the wheel tracks by 30 mm (1.2 in) and equipped it with 20-inch rims, shod in a set of specially-developed tires, with higher side walls that improve grip and bump absorption. Wide shoulder blocks, underbody reinforcements in the form of front and rear skid plates and aluminum-reinforced side skirts, as well as body protection, have turned ...

New Lamborghini Huracan Evo Spyder Drops Its Roof For Geneva

Image
After unveiling the Huracan Evo Coupe at the beginning of the year, Lamborghini has now uncovered the new Spyder open-top derivative. It’s equipped with an electrohydraulic soft top that takes 17 seconds to lower and can be operated at speeds of up to 50 km/h (31 mph). As the driver pushes the button that opens up the cabin, two fins rise up out of the folding roof casing towards the seatbacks. Drivers can electronically open the rear window with the roof up or down, to listen to the V10 soundtrack. As with the coupe, the supercar’s 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine has been tuned to deliver 640 PS (631 hp / 470 kW) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque. With a dry weight of 1,542 kg (3,340 lbs), and a power-to-weight ratio of 2.41 kg/PS (5.31 lbs/PS), it hits 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.1 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.3 seconds and has a top speed of 325 km/h (201 mph). In comparison, the Huracan Evo Coupe needs 2.9 seconds and 9.0 seconds to accelerate to 100 km/h (...

2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO Breaks Cover With 640PS, Rear-Wheel Steering

Image
Lamborghini’s newest iteration of the Huracan is dubbed the EVO and features a fully-integrated Vehicle Dynamics Control System, new infotainment technology with advanced connectivity and can accelerate from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds. We already knew that it was going to be called the ‘EVO’ thanks to a recently released teaser of a Lamborghini invite-only app, offering us a pretty good look at the Huracan’s upgraded styling. Lamborghini gave the Huracan EVO a new front bumper, featuring a front splitter with integrated wing design, aiding airflow. Meanwhile, the larger air intakes boast the automaker’s signature Y-shape, while the profile reveals a new wheel design and new side air intakes. However, it’s the rear end that arguably makes the revised Huracan stand out the most. The twin exhaust tips are positioned higher up in the rear bumper, while the upper end of the rear section features an integrated, slotted spoiler for increased downforce. ...

2020 Lamborghini Huracan Teased, Gets New Tech, More Power

Image
Lamborghini is working on a facelifted Huracán and the automaker has reportedly released the first teaser images on their smartphone app. While the app is invite only, Auto Express was able to grab two images of the car. They aren’t very revealing, but the pictures show the model will have revised headlights with reshaped LED daytime running lights. We can also get a glimpse of the car’s new front bumper which appears more aggressive than the one used on the current model. Additional details are hard to make out, but the front air intakes feature angular styling elements. The side scoops have also been updated as they have gloss black accents and a new horizontal fin. The styling changes are hard to see in the teaser images, but spy photos give us a better look at what to expect. Besides the aforementioned modifications, the 2020 Huracán will have a new rear end which features a dual exhaust system. Fans can also expect a new rear diffuser and additional vents. Exterio...

Lamborghini Huracan Performante Spyder Goes Topless In Geneva

Image
One year ago, Lamborghini unveiled the hardcore Huracan Performante. Now, the most driver-oriented version of the Huracan is getting an open-top version, which will undoubtedly turn every head in the room at the Geneva Motor Show. The new Huracan Performante Spyder features a soft-top roof that takes 17 seconds to open or close and doesn’t compromise the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) active aerodynamics. Its naturally aspirated 5.2-liter V10 develops just as much power as its fixed-roof sibling, which is 640PS (631hp) and 600Nm (lb-ft) of torque, or 30PS (30hp) and 40Nm (30lb-ft) more than the LP610-4 Spyder, from which it is also 35kg (77lbs) lighter. The 0 to 100km/h (0-62mph) sprint has dropped from the standard Spyder’s 3.4 seconds to 3.1, which is 0.2sec shy off the Huracan Performante Coupe. Top speed is identical, though, at 325km/h (202mph). Just like the Performante Coupe, the new Spyder benefits from an enhanced suspension, more responsive steer...
