2022 GMC Terrain Debuts With Updated Looks, Rugged New AT4 Variant

The GMC Terrain is one of the brand’s most important crossovers and it’s getting a facelift for 2022. Looking instantly recognizable, the 2022 Terrain features a larger grille that is flanked by restyled LED headlights. Further below, we can see a lightly modified front bumper with less chrome trim. Additional changes are limited, but the facelifted crossover gains new LED taillights and a revised color palette that includes four new options. The model has also been equipped with restyled 18- and 19-inch alloy wheels. The popular Denali and Elevation Edition return, and they’re being joined by an all-new AT4 variant. GMC didn’t say much about the latter, but it features a rugged exterior with plastic body cladding, a front skid plate and black wheels wrapped in meatier tires. 2018 GMC Terrain Brings Much Needed Updates To Aging Model (w/Video)

As expected, an  all-new GMC Terrain  has been unveiled at the  Detroit Auto Show  ready for the 2018 model year. The Terrain has been largely untouched since its 2009 introduction and General Motors has ensured it received a thorough overhaul including an interesting new design, two different transmissions and a selection of new engines. When it hits the market, consumers will get the choice of either a 1.6-liter turbo-diesel, a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol or a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol all of which are mated exclusively to one of the two new nine-speed gearboxes. Additionally, it is now smaller than ever before and now targets the likes of the Mazda CX-5 and Toyota RAV4. The compact 1.5-liter petrol pumps out 170 hp and 203 lb-ft (275 Nm) of torque and features continuously variable valve timing, stop/start technology and direct injection. GMC’s All-New 2018 Terrain Will Have A Very Murano-Like Floating Roof

These teaser photos are our first official look at the next generation of GMC’s Terrain crossover, which were released ahead of a world premiere at the  2017 Detroit auto show on Monday, January 9 . Just as GM did earlier with the Terrain’s larger cousin,  the 2018 Chevy Traverse  that will be joining it in Detroit next week, GMC’s teaser photo shows a silhouette of the crossover’s profile, in which we see a floating roof. New Chevrolet Traverse And GMC Terrain To Launch In Detroit

General Motors is preparing to unveil revamped versions of the Chevrolet  Traverse  and GMC Terrain at the Detroit Auto Show 2017 in January. The  Terrain  has been in production since 2009 with very few model year changes and it's the same story with the Traverse, not updated significantly since 2009. However, given the ever-growing demand for SUVs and crossovers, GM thinks now is the time to breath new life into them. Although a GM spokesman declined to comment on  The Wall Street Journal   report, insiders insist the updated models are edging towards their joint debuts and that the company will begin production of both next year in time for the 2018 model year. It is thought that the  new Traverse  will share its platfrom with the 2017 GMC Arcadia meaning it will be significantly lighter than the outgoing model.
