Renault’s reborn Alpine brand has been getting rave reviews for its new A110 and now, as promised, it’s revealed new versions of its coupe at the Geneva Motor Show. Following the success of the sold-out Premiere Edition, the A110 will now be offered in Pure and Legende trims. The A110 Pure is targeted at driving enthusiasts. It features one-piece Sabelt sports seats that weigh barely more than 13 kilograms (28.6 pounds) each and, combined with other weight-saving measures, helps keep the curb weight below 1,100 kg ( 2,425 lbs). It’s not entirely stripped out, though, and still comes with features like air-conditioning and satellite navigation. Buyers can also add upgraded Brembo brakes and an adaptive exhaust system and can upgrade to the adjustable comfort seats. Alpine has unveiled the new A110 Cup, shortly ahead of the first deliveries of the A110 Premiere Edition. Set to enter competition next year, the A110 Cup will be eligible to compete in the Alpine Europa Cup which will consist of 12 races next year at tracks such as Paul Ricard, Silverstone, and Spa-Francorchamps. Since the car was specifically designed for racing, the A110 Cup has been equipped with a revised suspension that features adjustable Öhlins shock absorbers and a 40mm (1.57 inches) reduced ride height. The car also boasts a roll cage and a high-performance Brembo braking system. The interior has been stripped of non-essential equipment and drivers will find a Sabelt racing seat with a six-point harness. There is also high-tech XAP steering wheel which features paddle shifters, a digital instrument cluster, and controls that adjust the traction control and anti-lock braking system. Alpine has finally revealed in full the new A110 Berlinette, a lightweight mid-engined sports car destined to rival the likes of the Porsche Cayman and the Alfa Romeo 4C.  The new A110 is based on an all-aluminum platform with the also aluminum body bonded, riveted and welded to it in order to provide a very rigid, yet light basis for the new French sports car.  How light you say? Well, the new A110 tips the scales at only 1,080kg (2,380lbs) with no options fitted. Combined with the turbocharged 1.8-litre unit that makes 247hp and 236 lb-ft (320Nm) of peak torque, the new Alpine gets a really exciting power-to-weight ratio of 231hp/tonne, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 62mph (100km/h) in 4.5 seconds and top out at an electronically limited 155mph (250km/h). There's a new Alpine sports car out, and it's coming to challenge the likes of the Alfa Romeo 4C and Porsche 718 Cayman. Part of Renault's resurrected Alpine brand, it looks pretty much identical to the Vision Concept that debuted last year, bar some minor nips and tucks that push it closer to the assembly line. Baptized the A110, which "reflects the timeless principles of compact size, light weight and agility that made the success of the Berlinette", it features a full aluminum platform and upper body, with obvious benefits in weight and handling. Despite unveiling their first product in decades, Alpine are keeping key specifications hidden away, up until the new A110 makes its public debut at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, on March 7, at 1:15 pm CET (7:15 am EST).
