McLaren 570S Sprint Unveiled In All Of Its Glory
With the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed in its sight for making its world premiere, the McLaren 570S Sprint has just been unveiled by the British manufacturer. Based on the 570S Coupe, the track-only Sprint is the most hardcore model yet in the Sports Series lineup. It features the familiar 3.8-liter mid-mounted twin-turbo V8 engine, mated to a 7-speed SSG transmission. Performance numbers have yet to be released, but the automaker states that power and torque levels have been optimized "to ensure the ultimate levels of driver engagement and the best levels of noise". Given McLaren's naming strategy that uses the car's output with a letter suffix (e.g. 650S), we presume the Sprint retains the same output as the road-legal 570S , that is 570 PS (562 HP) and 600 Nm (443 lb-ft) of torque.
